Assessment Brief:
Innovation management comprises instruments that allow managers, workers and
other stakeholders a common understanding, to initiate and use creative capabilities
to promote innovation as a strategy. Demonstrate your perception of tools,
techniques and creative strategies for innovation in a chosen sector. Define the
terms and critically explore how they compare and continue to benefit the
organisation socially and economically.

Your essay should be well-structured, clearly written, and supported by relevant


literature and data. You are encouraged to use examples and case studies to
illustrate your analysis and recommendations. Please ensure that your essay is
properly referenced using appropriate citation and referencing style.

Secondary Research Source Requirement at Level HE5 - It is expected that the


Reference List will contain between ten and fifteen sources. As a MINIMUM the
Reference List should include two refereed academic journals and three academic
books.

Additional Submission Instructions:
You are required to submit a soft copy via “Turn-it-in UK” on the module Moodle
page. The software will allow you to check your work against other material on the
internet. It will also compare your work against other students work.
You will be able to upload drafts of your written work into turn-it-in as many times as
you wish before the deadline.
You will not be able to overwrite the final submission after the deadline. You can only
submit a single file.

Advice:
 Do not cut and paste phrases or paragraphs from published sources. You
should seek to use your own words to explain concepts and theory.

 If you wish to refer to specific quotes from published sources, then you must
use full Harvard Referencing Convention.
 Do not share work with other students.

Specific Assessment Criteria: (See page 4 for General Assessment Criteria)

Excellent (70%+): The essay will be of a high standard and will reflect a
comprehensive understanding of the key concepts and the application of extensive
reading. They will address the specific issues outlined in the assignment brief about
enterprise culture, creativity and innovation. The essay will demonstrate competent
planning/structure, clear diction, enthusiastic arguments and an effective use of
supplementary theoretical and practice-based evidence to support arguments. The
essay will contain minimal errors in spelling and grammar and will be accessible to
readers from a range of cultural and social backgrounds.

Very Good (60-69%): The essay will cover the salient points on enterprise culture
creativity and innovation from the assignment brief and will reflect a good
understanding of the literature around these key concepts. The essay will be clear,
informative and attempt to develop a coherent argument. It will be well written and
presented in a structured and readable style.

Good (50-59 A reasonable attempt will be made to prepare and deliver the essay,
but it will be under-developed and will not consistently reflect the level of
understanding required for this level.

Satisfactory (40-49%): The content of the essay will be mostly irrelevant to the
assessment task and/or not organised in a way that address key requirements.

Unsatisfactory (Below 40%): Students who do not meet the requirements of a pass
grade (40% or above) will not successfully complete the assessment activity.
