STUDY PLAN: MARK BOMBER

OBJECTIVE: Reach B2 proficiency in Spanish according to the CEFOR framework.

Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics,
including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree
of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite
possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of
subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and
disadvantages of various options.

TIMELINE: If you study 30 minutes daily 7 days a week for 48 weeks you can reach B2
level starting from no knowledge of Spanish. It may take less time depending on how much
you already know. If you're starting from nothing this is around 168 study hours.

METHOD: We will use the Become Fluent™ method that I've developed over a decade of
studying and teaching languages. The most important part of the method are the 12 week plans
that seek to create consistency and keep the learner accountable. Culture will be incorporated
into the lessons and there will be periodic tests to check progress. The goal is to think in the
language you are speaking, therefore a lot of time is dedicated to exercises that make you think
in the language.

The following suppositions guide the method:

1. Languages are in a constant flux
2. Languages are the result of historical agreement in a community
3. Communicating the idea is more important than grammar
4. To achieve fluency one must think in the languages
5. Languages are closed systems which relate to themselves
6. To become fluent one must transform themself and create a new identity
7. Spaced repetition is important for memorizing
8. One has to live the language, go where it is spoken, be part of the community, make
friends in the language
9. One must be culturally competent in the language's history
