As a supply manager, one must complete various tasks to guarantee the supply chain of a
business runs smoothly and efficiently. This can involve devising and executing supply
strategies and policies that are in line with the business goals and objectives, as well as
negotiating and managing contracts and relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service
providers. Additionally, it is important to monitor and assess the performance, quality, and
compliance of suppliers and vendors. Supply managers should also be analyzing and
forecasting the demand and supply of goods and materials, adjusting inventory levels
accordingly, managing the budget, inventory, and logistics of the supply chain, identifying
and resolving any issues or risks that may affect the supply chain, collaborating and
communicating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure coordination and
integration of the supply chain, as well as implementing and maintaining best practices and
standards for supply management.
