Ctrl+9 - To activate and hide command bar

Op- Option command to change background of AutoCAD - Change display from color

4 methods to draw line command bar, tool menu, side menu and shortcut key "l"

to adjust unit , go to format --> Units click , 2nd method shortcut key "un"

To set limit of drawing window, go to format --> Drawing limits,

Grids and Ortho to precise the drawing.

Object snap on or off "F3" to select different parameters i.e. mid, end etc.

Dynamic input for show the dimensions during draw sketch

Quick properties to check the detail of any sketch

To change cross lines and middle box - go to Option and Display for cross lines and selection for middle
box size

To join multiple object use "Join" command and to disconnect objects use "explode" command

To view dimension style use "D" Set modify and adjust dimension and text height accordingly

Polyline use to keep object connected like as "Join" i.e. no disconnection line, Shortcut is "PL"

Use command bar when select any drawing feature to check the available options.

Polygon "POL" for inscribe or subscribe circle then select sides (4, 5, 6 etc) then draw polygon and then
draw Circle either in or out side as per requirement

Rectangle as per your requirement either dimensions, area and also rotation for block design

Arc command "A" short key. different types of arc

Circle "c" short key. Multiple option to draw circle

Spline "SPL" to draw smooth curve better than Polygon. Shapes for lake, jogging track etc.

Ellipse "EL" to draw smooth ellipse.

Point Command "PO" to mark any place. To dive lines. Can change its symbol for visibility. TO change
symbol of point use "DDPTYPE" short key

Block command to fix the block and use it in different drawings. Then change in main drawing the block
will automatically update all drawings. Short key "B" to draw block.

To insert block in any drawing use "I" insert command and select the block to paste.

To edit block use "BE" and select the block to edit it.

Donut command for circular object inner and outer dia. "DO" shortcut and put inner and outer diameter

Helix command for spring like structure. "HEL" to design it. Change the axis as well.

Draw Table by using "Table". This is just like excel file

Prepare table and edit text size, can use few formula as well.

Also import and export table to and from Auto CAD in excel format.

Hatch and Gradient use to fill the object for color identification. Hatch fill the close object with different
pattern while gradient have light to dark gradient and also two color options.

Boundary and region in AutoCAD. Short key "BO". Boundary command is use to find the area of close
object. MASSPROP command use to find the cumulative area of multiple objects but to use this
command first generate region by using "BO" command and select region instead of polyline and select
the objects. Then use MASS PROP command to find area.

Test command "DT" for single line text and define size and angle and start typing. There are multiple
options to add text on drawing align, left, right, centre etc.

Multiple text command is similar to word file document and there are multiple formatting options.
Including symbols and formatting matching. A multi text formatting tool. Short key "MT"

After selecting "MT" command, there are also some multiple options to set height, alignment and to add
text on any angle.

Express tool

Arc Text. Use to add text on arc. there are multiple options for text formatting.

Explode Text - Use to explode a single word into each alphabet and edit alphabet single easily.

Convert text to MTEXT - Convert single line text to multi line text to edit and formatting text easily.

Paste command - to keep same format and coordinate , options are there.

Paste special for paste as image, as excel as link etc.

Ctrl C and to paste as block use Ctrl Shift V and block will be paste. Same block can be used anywhere
and if edit by using "BE" command to edit block and same will be reflect in all drawings using that block.

ID Command is use to find the coordinate of any point on object. It will show the coordinate position of
that point in drawings

Hyperlink command - short key "Ctrl K" - to link any file, address, video with any object.
Transparent command - to enhance the drawing feature , reduce the color or hatch , usually for
Gradient and Hatch command

To increase transparency , go to setting at workspace bottom side and drafting and annotation and
adjust transparency

To check the dimensions of different features and area etc. Use "DI" for distance checking.

To check area - 1st method - select object and right click and go to properties.

2nd method - LI and select object , new dialogue box appear with information.

3rd method - "AA" enter and select object , area will appear

4th method - go to Drafting and Annotation from workspace bottom side and there will be an
option of measure to find any dimensions accordingly.

Different dimensions - angular and radius , diameter can be measured from dimensions tab at the top
bar.

Layers information - Use layers to make different objects in different layers to make work easy. It will
help us to off and on layers to show objects accordingly.

Use layers to prepare different items in different layers. Hide layers, lock, freeze layes, define color of
each layers etc. All options explore.

To convert one item from one layer to another layer, just select that item and select the layer from top
layer menu to transfer that item in specific layer.

Match property, can be used for line, hatch, gradient etc. use the option given in top menu to match the
properties of objects.

Mirror command use to mirror the object at specific distance. Draw a base line to mirror the object
against that line and select object then select line of mirror.

Offset command use to draw parallel lines to draw road, stairs, walls etc. Short key "O".

Set offset dimensions and then select object then give direction to offset that object.

Multiple offset: After setting dimensions, select multiple from command bar and then just click in
direction to offset object multiple times.

Offset in current and source layers: Can offset and item from one layer to other layer as well.

Rotate: Short Key "RO". To rotate any object at any angle

Stretch: to change the object property i.e. increase or decrease length

Array: "AR" to place multiple object around any object either rectangular, polar etc.

Scale: ratio between distance on map on actual distance on ground: i.e. 1' = 100 meters. Short key "SC".
SC can scale the dimensions as well as give the reference dimensions as per your requirements.

Break: to break an object as per your requirement "BR"

Trim: To trim un wanted items but must be cross section to each other . Select both object and then trim
un wanted items. To trim multiple objects, after select trim command press enter twice to trim multiple
objects. "TR"

Extend: to join two objects having very small distance between them. "EX"

Trim selected and want to extend object then press shift then both commands work together.

Fillet and Chamfer command to generate radius and chamfer on corner. "F" and "CH"

Chamfer for corner plate to avoid collision of car and increase visibility.

KHASRA PLAN

Plotting as per government defined method.

To import any image : Inset --> Raster Image Reference and place the image as per your desired
dimension box.

To recover DWG file. use same name with .bak options and rename it as .dwg and file recovered.

To setup own page size. Select layout at bottom of drawing, can add layout, delete layout , rename
layout etc.

First remove the existing box, and draw box as per your desired dimensions. Then right click on layout
and select page setup, then modify, then select AutoCAD PDF General document, then properties,
custom properties / custom paper size, then Add, then give your own size, set margin, next and finish.

Paper size is added in list and then select page size, adjust view Landscape / Portrait and adjust
rectangle in layout.

Command "MV" and draw rectangle, then available drawings will be visible on new layout.

PDF to DWG Files:

Insert --> PDF Underlay and open, place the file then adjust the view. Raster image for image import.

Method 1

Draw a reference line, set the scale and then draw all lines over the image.

Online conversion but it may not convert complete drawing and some features / dimensions may
missed.
To provide the converted drawing, you must enclose image / pdf with dwg file, so go to AutoCAD Icon
and go to publish then go to "etransmit" and save file along with enclose other files. It will save as
compressed file and all reference files will be in this folder.

Use "Ecotech" software to use for calculation and other work during house plan preparation. tutorial

Load bearing wall must b 9"
Non load bearing wall is 4.5"
Location plan finished at end of week 7
Door must be 4.5" away from wall
