1. How the functions of HRM can help a company’s long-term profitability

 Employee Training and Development:

Talented employees will stay longer with the company

A study conducted by the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD)
found that

“companies that invest in employee training and development have 218% higher
income per employee than those that don't.”

“An impressive 87% of millennials rate "professional or career growth and

development opportunities" as important to them in a job -- far more than the 69% of
non-millennials who say the same.” (Rigoni, A.A., and B. (2016))

Engaged employees are enthusiastic about their jobs, committed to the organization's
goals, and motivated to contribute their best efforts toward achieving those goals.
Organizations that prioritize employee engagement initiatives are more likely to
achieve sustainable growth and success in the competitive business landscape.

 Talent Acquisition and Recruitment

- Hiring the right people who possess the necessary skills, experience, and cultural fit is
crucial for organizational success. Effective recruitment processes ensure that the
company attracts top talent, which contributes significantly to productivity, innovation,
and overall performance.

“companies with a strong employer brand have a lower cost per hire by 50% and
experience a 28% lower turnover rate.” (Glassdoor Economic Research. (2019).)
2. Functions that are most likely to have the biggest impact:

Employee Training and Development significantly impacts organizations by enhancing

employee skills and productivity, increasing engagement and job satisfaction, reducing
turnover rates, fostering innovation, and improving customer satisfaction. By investing in
training and development initiatives, organizations cultivate a skilled and motivated
workforce that contributes to long-term profitability and success.

“According to a survey conducted by Office Team in 2015, 38% of HR professionals

consider training and developing employees their greatest staffing concern.”
(Exoplatform, 2023)
