has been received.
b) Contractor shall prevent excessive mud, concrete, and like construction
materials from encountering the materials.
c) Contractor shall protect the materials from damage once on site. Damaged
materials including cracked and chipped block beyond allowances provided.
2.4. Wood
2.4.1. Scope
• Unless specified otherwise, the contractor is responsible for providing all
necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the
proportioning, mixing, depositing, curing, and finishing of the concrete.
2.4.2. Protection and Storage
• Store woods in dry, water-tight, properly ventilated structures to prevent
deterioration and contamination.
• Any woods partially set, deteriorated, or contaminated must be rejected.
2.4.3. Materials
• 6mm thick oak wood slat and plank
• Waterproofing: Furnish wood materials required to complete all
waterproofing work as shown on the drawings and herein specified. All
applications shall be strictly performed by an approved waterproofing
Contractor. All materials shall be Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
certified and approved.
2.5. Sand
2.5.1. Scope
• Unless specified otherwise, the contractor is responsible for providing all
necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the
proportioning, mixing, depositing, curing, and finishing of the concrete.
2.5.2. Protection and Storage
• Keep containers securely sealed. Store in a cool, dry area protected from
environmental extremes.
• Store away from incompatible materials and foodstuff containers.
• Protect containers against physical damage and check regularly for leaks.
2.5.3. Materials
• Fine aggregate/ coarse sand consists of natural sand, crushed stone sand
or crushed gravel stone dust. It should be hard, durable chemically inert,
clean and free from organic matter, not containing any appreciable
amount of clay balls or pellets and other harmful impurities.
• It should be passed through I. S. Sieve 4.75 MM. It should have the finest
modulus 2.50 to 3.50 and silt contents should not be more than 4%.
Coarse sand should be either river sand or pit sand; or combination of
the two.
• Bistay Sand approximately 13kg per bag
2.6. Admixtures
2.6.1. Scope
• Unless specified otherwise, the contractor is responsible for providing all
necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the
proportioning, mixing, depositing, curing, and finishing of the concrete.
2.6.2. Protection and Storage
• It must be stored at moderate temperature in sealed condition. If sachet
is opened, usage must be within 72 hours at moderate temperature.
• It can be stored for 2 years if stored as recommended in unopened,
original sachets.
2.6.3. Materials
• “Bostik” Addmix Ultra is a ready-to-use powder admixture comprising of
Hi-Grade Super Plasticizer specially designed to impart high range water
reduction, better workability, and accelerated strength development to
cement-based mixtures intended for concrete structures. It does not
contain chloride.
• It meets the requirement of ASTM C494 Type D & G
• It is compatible with any set retarders air entraining agents approved
under ASTM specifications whenever extended workability is desired.
