Recruiting Details: PhD (or MS/PhD) students (starting in 2024 fall semester) (No opening for MS-only students)
Description: One or more positions for dedicated graduate students are available for the research on the following
subjects:
• Laser-based additive manufacturing technology (3D printing)
• Heat and mass transfer in micro/nanoscale
• Development of small-scale batteries and supercapacitors
• Laser processing on nanomaterials
These positions will support the research projects funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea.

Eligibility/Requirements:
• Bachelor or master degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering,
physics, chemistry, and other related majors
• English: TOEFL 530 (CBT 197, IBT 71), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS 600, TOEIC 800, TOPIK level
4, or equivalent
• Academic CGPA over 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, 3.23/5.0, or 80/100

Scholarships: Successful applicants will receive

(1) AF-1 scholarship (100 % tuition waiver);
(2) Financial support starting and gradually increasing from 1,200,000 KRW/month for MS/PhD students and
1,600,000 KRW/month for PhD students; and
(3) Additional research incentives depending on the student’s achievements (more details can be given on request).

Outline of CAYSS program:

The Chung-Ang University Young Scientist Scholarship (CAYSS) Program is a newly launched graduate program in
the Graduate School of Chung-Ang University. CAYSS, opened in Fall 2010, aims to pick out and recruit overseas
students from prominent institutions and universities all over the world that are majoring in Engineering and Science.
The students must be highly recommended by one of Chung-Ang University's faculty members. The recipients of this
scholarship will enjoy entrance fee and full tuition fee waivers for four semesters.
