C-DAC Mumbai invites OEM or its authorized distributor / partner to submit their bid for

purchasing and installation of Fire Alarm System with all its accessories at Centre for
Development of Advanced Computing, Gulmohar Cross Road No. 9, Juhu, Mumbai - 400 049.

Scope of Work for Installation of Fire Alarm System include cost of dismantling
of an old fire alarm system and the installation of a new one.

Terms and Conditions


• The above rates should include cost of dismantling of an old fire alarm system and the installation of a
new one.

• Only Ravel, Honeywell, Bosch, Siemens, or equivalent fire alarm system components would be
accepted.

• Wires from Polycab, Syska, Finolex, and Havells or Equivalent would be acceptable.

• The rates should be inclusive of transport, material, labor, and other overhead charges.

• If inferior-quality or damaged material is supplied, CDAC reserves the right to reject the material, i.e.,
the rejected material is to be replaced by contractor, and the cost of transport, etc. is to be borne by
contractor.

• A warranty of 12 months is applicable to all products.

• Payment: After Installation

• No extra charges will be applicable except for the BOQ.

• If removal of any structural component, such as a false ceiling, etc., is required for fixing the alarm
system component, then re-fixing would be done by the contractor.

• The procurement and fixing of casing and conduit pipe for FRLS cable should also be included in this
quotation.

• All products should conform to Indian standards.

• The items should be supplied in good condition without any visible or non-visible damage.

• The vendor/contractor must have a minimum of three years of experience in the commissioning and
maintenance of fire alarm systems.

• The vendor/contractor must be an Indian OEM or its authorized distributor or partner.


• The contractor should visit the site, understand the work requirement, and, in case of doubt, obtain
the required particulars that may influence his work. From the CDAC, no claim whatsoever will be
entertained for any alleged ignorance thereof.

• Before giving a quotation, the contractor shall inspect the site to fully acquaint himself with the
condition with regard to accessibility of the site and nature of the ground, working conditions including
stacking of material, installation of T & P, etc.

• The client (CDAC) may delay the progress of the works without vitiating the contract and grant such
extension of time for the completion of the contract as they may think proper and sufficient in
consequence of such delay, and the contractor shall not make any claim for compensation for damages
in relation thereto.

• If the contractor, after receipt of written notice from the client requiring compliance with such further
drawings and/or the client’s instructions, fails within seven days to execute any such work whatsoever
may be necessary to give effect thereto, all costs incurred in connection therewith shall be recoverable
from the contractor by the client as a debt or may be deducted by him from any moneys due to the
contractor (Bidder).

• On completion of the work, the contractor shall clear away and remove from the site all surplus
materials, rubbish, and temporary works of every kind and leave the whole site and permanent works
clean and in a workman-like condition to the satisfaction of the client.

• The contractor must obtain for itself, on its own responsibility and at his own expense, all the
information that may be necessary for the purpose of making a tender and for entering into a contract,
examine the drawings, consider and inspect the site of the work, and acquaint himself with all local
conditions, means of access to the work, nature of the work, and all matters pertaining thereto and
influencing its rates for the work. The rates quoted in the tender shall include all charges for double
scaffolding, marking out and clearing of the site, airing, etc., as mentioned in the specifications.

• The rates quoted shall be deemed to be for the finished work. The tenderer must include in their rates
royalty, sales tax, excise duty, and any other tax, duty, or levy levied by the central government or any
state government or local authority if, applicable, no claim in respect of royalty, sales tax, excise duty,
or other tax, duty, or levy shall be entertained by the client.

• Time shall be considered the essence of the contract. The entire work must be completed in 8 (Eight)
calendar months.

• The attention of the tenderer is drawn to the clause in the conditions of the contract referring to
damage for non-completion. The tenderer shall, before commencing work, prepare a detailed work
program, which shall be approved by the client.

• The contractor shall not be entitled to any compensation for any loss suffered by him on account of
delay in commencing or executing the work whatever the course of delays may be, including delay
arising out of modification of the work entrusted to him or any sub-contracts connected therewith or
delays in awarding contracts for other trades of the project or in commencement or completion of such
works or in procuring government controlled or other building materials or in obtaining Air and power
connections for construction purposes or for any other reason, whatsoever and the client does not
accept liability for any sum besides the tender amount subject only to such variations as may be
provided for herein.

• The contractor, after the completion of work, should submit the drawing with details of the fire alarm
system and a complete representation of the alarm panel and its wiring.

• 3% BG is required by a successful bidder.

• From the commencement to the completion of works and handing over, the contractor shall take full
responsibility for care thereof all the works and in case of any damage/loss to the works or to any part
thereof or to any temporary works due to lack of Precautions or due to negligence on part of Contractor,
the same shall be made good by the Contractor.

• Work shall be carried out in such a manner that the work of other Agencies operating at the site is not
hampered due to any action of the Contractor. Proper Co-ordination with other Agencies will be
Contractor’s responsibility. In case of any dispute the decision of C-DAC shall be final and binding on the
contractor. No claim whatsoever shall be admissible on this account.
