INTERNATIONAL (LuLu Group) is a
highly diversified conglomerate with
successful business entities in
strategic locations worldwide. It is a
world-renowned purveyor of an
international business portfolio that
ranges from hypermarket operations
to shopping mall development,
manufacturing and trading of goods,
hospitality assets, and real estate.
LuLu Group wanted to build a new
data center and campus facility to
strengthen its IT capabilities and
create a simplified management
platform for its global network
support team.
“Data center is the heart of most
businesses, and the central channel
for any data moving in or out of an
organization. We wanted to keep pace
with accelerating business demands
and growth,” says Piyush Chowhan,
CIO, LuLu Group.
Chowhan knew well that data center
projects are complex undertakings.
But when done right, a brand new
data center emerges to support
business objectives, and meet current
and anticipated future needs. After
selecting the new space for the data
centre, Chowhan and his team started
to evaluate various providers for data
center solutions.
MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE
One of the focus areas for the IT team
was to deploy enterprise-quality,
cloud-managed networking and
security solution for its users and
customers.
“We wanted to ensure that we focus
more on strategic IT efforts than
managing networks. Downtime
disappoints customers and destroys
productivity,” says Chowhan.
After evaluating few service providers,
LuLu Group partnered with Juniper
Networks for its switching and
cloud-based network management.
They chose Juniper Sky Enterprise
along with Juniper Switching to
reduce setup complexity and ensure
scalability.

GROWTH WITHOUT LIMITS
Post the deployment, the overall
network experience for LuLu Group
has improved.
Chowhan shares that Juniper’s Sky
Enterprise architecture has a disag-
gregated model that enables the team
to locally manage a device, if neces-
sary. For instance, if a configuration
change is done locally, Sky Enterprise
absorbs the new configuration seam-
lessly.
“We partnered with Juniper for their
Software Defined Networking (SDN)
capabilities. Another reason to
choose Sky Enterprise solution was
that it matched many capabilities of
its competition and was
cost-effective,” informs Chowhan.
Another feature of the Juniper Sky
Enterprise is the availability of a
simplified setup and installation
process, which means that it can be
added to a network quickly. LuLu
Group’s IT team worked alongside the
team from Juniper to complete the
rollout of the cloud-based
management solution in a record four
weeks time.
“There has been simplification of the
entire architecture leading to signifi-
cant savings in terms of management
of the network components,” says
Chowhan. “We now have centralized
visibility and control of all network
devices.”

EX Switches have allowed LuLu Group
to have a network that is ready for
the next generation of end points,
including 802.11ax Wireless Access
