Mobile devices are rewiring daily life for
teens and their parents. Two-thirds of
parents (71%) and teens (67%) in
Mexico say they use their mobile device
almost all the time. Close to half of
teens (47%) and parents (46%) check
their device several times an hour.

Communicating with family and friends is the

main purpose of minors when they access
the Internet, at least that is what 70% of
them affirm. While activities dedicated to
entertainment, such as listening to music
(63%), watching videos (55%) and playing
online games (46%), occupy second place.

Teenagers between 13 and 18 years old are the

least interested, with an average daily viewing
time that does not exceed five hours. It is worth
mentioning that the most watched types of
television programs in Mexico are news and
movies.

Teenagers spend 4.5 hours of their day

connected to the Internet and 61% admit
that they do not know what their life
would be like without the Internet. Nine
out of ten are members of some social
network, with an average of 200 virtual
friends.

late August to early July. School
hours in private and public schools
differ, but they normally start at
7:30-8:00 until around 13:30-14:30
