blue scenery of moutains and oceans in the Philippines, a reason why the islands of Hawaii feels like a second home to me. The beauty or “nani”(Hawaiian transla- tion of beauty) of this island is not just worth to watch but also worth remem- bering in our memory. Inspired by the famous natural and landscape photog- rapher David Muench, I was moved to capture the beautiful surroundings that can be found around the island. I cap- tured both night and daytime photos to show that nature is amusing anytime. By using long exposure, low shutter speed, high aperture, and low ISO in nighttime photos, I was able to make the images clearer and brighter even in the darkness. In daytime, I used higher shutter speed to control very bright sunlight. Aperture is set higher in these cases because of the direct light, and ISO is set to the lowest to counter the bright exposure.
Through this project, I hope to preserve
Hawaii’s natural beauty by creating this visual documentation that will inspire future generations to admire and value the beauty of this island.
