Coral Reefs of Papua New Guinea

By Jean-Michel Cousteau
In his article, "Coral Reefs of Papua New Guinea," published on the National Geographic
Traveler blog, he talked about living life to the fullest with your family or parents. The memories
we make with our family are everything and can be more memorable if you do things that you
love together. Families that share everyday activities together form strong emotional ties. The
happier we feel, and the more personal satisfaction we have in our lives. The author has a
beautiful heart; they have an incredible bond with his father, especially as they both dive beneath
the beauty of reefs.
Visiting Papua New Guinea is a beautiful gift for his father. The reefs of Papua New
Guinea are truly biologically beautiful; they are known as one of the least damaged regions of
the Indo-Pacific. There are real treasures in the depths of the sea here. It has various kinds of fish
and corals. An adventure they had were amazing, it is a place where you could visit an open cave
that had a ceiling bristled with bushes of black coral, and you would be surprised and stop what
you were doing because of the stingrays inside that you could hardly see.
Before, the author was once a student of his father, but now things have changed, and as
time has passed, the father is now the student and the author is the one who guides. His father
was old but grew up with golden memories. His father made a proud statement about how his
age affects his ability to dive, and he promised to build equipment that will allow the elderly to
do things as freely as they did when they were younger. At the end of this story, his father
continued his diving hobby and thoroughly enjoyed it.
As they visit Papua New Guinea, they enjoyed their trip to all the reefs they visited. They
might not see the mask behind the beauty of the island, but we must move and take an action to
protect our sea and environmental life. Humans should stop destroying the environment right
now, we must give respect to our land water resources, and start to cherish the beauty and take
safe care to it.
