Application

 The findings are used to assess if the particle size distribution complies with the relevant specification criteria
and to give the information needed to govern the manufacture of different aggregate products and
combinations incorporating aggregates. (Mavs PB,2021)

 The information may also be helpful in establishing connections between porosity and packing. The soil is
categorized using data from the particle size analysis, such as the uniformity coefficient Cu, coefficient of
curvature Cc, effective size D10, etc. (Mavs PB ,2021)

 One of the parameters used to determine if the soil is adequate for constructing roads, embankments, dams,
etc. is particle size.
(Mav’s PB,2021)

 If the permeability test is not available, information from particle size analysis can be used to forecast the soil-
water movement.(Mav’s PB, 2021)

 The four zones of fine aggregate are categorized by the fineness modulus, and a change in the fineness
modulus value of fine aggregate denotes a change in the source of the material, which will impact the
workability of concrete. (Construction Civil,2021)
