1.0 Objective
To lay down the procedure for carrying out the systematic cleaning of the quality control
laboratory which is maintained as clean area (classified area).
2.0 Scope
This cleaning procedure is applicable for all the departments of quality control and to the
equipments used in quality control laboratory.

6.0 Materials
1. 70% IPA/Aerosept.
7.0 Procedure
2. The alternative should be of different chemicals type and preferably possess different spectrum of
anti-microbial activity.
3. Disinfectants of different chemical types should not be mixed, and disinfectants should not be
mixed with cleaning agents. Mixing can result in drastic reduction in anti-microbial activity.
4. Disinfectant and cleaning agents should be freshly prepared. Only purified water should be used
for dilution as per need.
5. Aqueous dilutions should not be stored overnight as microorganisms can grow on storage.
7.2 Prepare required quantity of fresh disinfectant solution using purified water as diluent. Follow
the schedule for preparation of disinfectant as per Annexure.
7.3 Clean the entire laboratory using following equipments Floor mops Cloths and sponges (non-
fibre shedding) Ceiling mops (non-particle shedding)
7.4 Following area are to be cleaned:
2 Switches
3 Furniture
4 Waste bins
7 benches
8 laboratory equipments
7.5 Daily spray 70% IPA/ Aerosept on the areas which are to be cleaned let the 70% IPA/ Aerosept
remain on surface for 10 seconds and then wipe the area with clean non fibre shedding cloth.
7.6 Also mop the working area with 70% Isopropyl alcohol daily after completion of routine testing.
