Both Poe’s father and mother were professional actors. They died before the poet was
three years old. John and Frances Allan raised him as a foster child in Richmond, Virginia.
Poe attended the University of Virginia for one semester, but he left due to lack of money.
Poe quarreled with Allan over the funds for his education and enlisted in the Army in 1827
under an assumed name.

DISCUSSION:
The problem above is a matter of reference (reference word). It is important for a student to
master the "Reference" material or reference words because questions about reference words
often appear in school final exams or national examinations in the field of English studies. To
be able to answer questions about reference words is actually not difficult if you have
mastered the material on pronouns / pronouns. But you also have to understand whether these
words are subject, object, possessive pronoun, place description, and position in a sentence.
