What is an extraoral examination?

The extraoral examination includes the analysis of the patient's general and facial appearance,
examination of the lymph nodes and the temporomandibular joint.

What is an intraoral exploration?

Extraoral examination

One of the first issues we take into account are facial asymmetries and changes in skin color that
could have occurred in areas near the mouth. The profile study is especially relevant in people with
orthodontics.

Next, an examination is carried out in the submandibular area and neck, to detect inflammation in
these areas. Palpation is also performed in the Temporo-Mandibular joint, in the area adjacent to
the entrance to the ear.
