Setup the PC GUI folder location


• Open Consys and select ‘Options’ then ‘MZXConsys Options’
• We need to do this so that the GUI files can be copied to the USB stick

For 32 bit operating systems, set the path


C:\Program Files\TSP MZX\PC GUI 2.7

For 64 bit operating systems, set the path


C:\Program Files (x86)\TSP MZX\PC GUI 2.7

GUI – Zone Maps & Sleep Screen


• A feature of the GUI is the ability to display zone maps (in alarm)
Zones maps
• All images used must be in 630 x 414 pixels
• All images used must be .png files
• No image can be larger than 500kb
 c:\zonemaps\panel1\zone1\warehouse.png
 c:\zonemaps\panel1\zone2\design-office.png
 …etc. (Note: no spaces used for folders or file names)

• The ‘zonemaps’ folder must not be larger than 12Mb


Sleep screen
• The sleep screen must also be 640 x 480 pixels (full screen)
• The image can be called ‘sleep.png’ but now not essential
 The filename must be all lower case

• The image can be no larger than 500kb

Configuration – Creating Zone Map folders


In Consys:

• In the example given above, the


C:\Program Files (x86)\TSP MZX\MZX Consys 28.3\Zone Maps\Training

configured system had points


configured in only 7 zones, therefore
only 7 zone folders were created.
• You must now create the png files
described on the previous slide and
copy them into the relevant zone
folder, along with the sleep.png into
the ‘Panel1’ folder.

Displaying GUI Zone Maps In Alarm


• To display a zonal map when the panel is in a Fire Alarm condition, press the
event (First or Last Fire), then press the button

• If multiple zonal maps (multiple png map files in a


zone folder) are configured for a zone, then you can
scroll through them by swiping your finger left or
right, or using the < or > buttons

Select Zone Maps if you have


configured any for the GUI

Browse to locate the Zonemaps


folder and the sleep.png image.
The filename can be anything!

Select Transfer to USB

points or no zone maps assigned to them.
Unless you assign a map to every zone, you
will see this information above.

If this is ok select Proceed

the PFI800 for the Flexable Panel.

Select the template with the language

Panel F/W and Configuration update


• Insert the USB stick into the CPU801 or PFI800 and insert header link H3 and
the Service (CPU801) or M BOOT (PFI800) header link also.
• Now press/release the CPU Reset (CPU801) or the M RST button
(SW 2, PFI800).

Panel F/W and Configuration update

• After a few seconds you will see the panel


icon flashing followed by a login screen.

• Type in 01 (your configuration user),then the


passcode you created followed by pressing
the OK button.

• You will now see the CONFIGURE – Update


Panel screen where you will select the project
for your panel

• Then select the Panel from the chosen project,


followed by pressing Update.

• Press OK to confirm that you wish to


update the panel‘s configuration.

• The Configuration then the Firmware


will be copied to the panel.

• Please remove the links and the USB stick


before you press the ‘Restart‘ button to
complete the update.

• Ignore the login display. This screen will clear


within a few seconds.

Panel F/W and Configuration update

• You will see the panel icon flashing whilst the


panel is restarting.

• The panel will initialise and your panel update


is successful.

• If the ‘System Fault’ LED is on, you must login


to panel then press the Reset button to clear
this fault

Update the panel config’ from GUI menu


• Insert USB stick in the FIM800 or PFI800 and insert the ‘H3’ link

• Login to the panel as an ‘Engineer’ and press ‘Configure’ then ‘Service’

• Now press ‘Update Panel’, and select the Site (configuration folder) then
select the Panel from the USB stick, then press Update

• The panel will now load the new configuration and prompt you to press the
Restart button after removing the USB stick and H3 link

Updating the configuration via the Network


• Download project file (USB)
• Using the USB Stick for downloading the project file over the network, you
need to ensure that all panels have a CPU801! It is not possible to use a USB
stick to download the project file over a mixed processor network (CPU800
and CPU801)!

GUI update using the USB port


• The GUI has a USB slot which can be used to:
 Update the firmware
 Update the configuration
 Reset the GUI to default – This resets the I.P address
to the factory default 192.168.1.101 and clears any
zone maps and sleep screen from the GUI

• Once you have transferred all the required data, make


sure you have logged in then insert the USB stick

• The memory stick will be automatically read.

Touchscreen calibration of GUI from USB


• If you ticked Touch screen calibrate required
whilst storing the Statrtup Info onto the
memory stick, you will be given the option as
shown on the right when the USB stick is
inserted into the GUI

• Here you see the positions of the five


crosshair markers used to calibrate the GUI
screen

• The GUI will reboot once you press the fifth


calibration point

GUI Firmware update


• Reinserted the USB stick into the GUI

• You will now see three options.


 Firmware
 GUI Configuration
 Factory Default (resets I.P. to 192.168.1.101)

• Now click Firmware

• WARNING! do not unplug the USB until the


updating is complete.
• Click on OK to continue to update the GUI
firmware

GUI Firmware update

• You will now see the GUI restart displaying the


bootup screen for a few seconds

• The screen will display lines of Linux based text,


including multiple lines of # symbols.
• This process takes less than five minutes to
complete

GUI Firmware update complete!

• The GUI will restart displaying the idle screen


(shown on the right) for a while before
showing the sleep screen, assuming the
system is event free

• To check the GUI firmware version, log into


the panel then click on the ‘Configuration‘
button, then press the ‘S/W Versions‘
button, select the panel then press ‘View‘
and scroll to the ‘GUI Details‘

• After the USB stick is inserted into the GUI

• Click on GUI Configuration to start the


configuration update

• Select the project from the USB memory stick.


It is possible to store many projects on the
same memory stick, therefore use caution
when selecting the project

• Select the Panel that you are connected to

• Now select the GUI you are updating

• Press Update when you are ready to update


the GUI configuration

• The screen confirms which GUI I.P. address


you are updating (e.g. 192.168.1.101).
• Press OK to confirm that you wish to update
the GUI

• You will now see confirmation that the GUI


configuration is in progress

• Then you will now see confirmation that the


GUI configuration has finished

NOTE: Clearing the Event History & Any Isolates


• It may be useful to clear the Event Log and all
Isolates in the panel. To do this proceed as follows: CPU801

• Place jumper on H2 in the panel H2


• Press reset button on CPU801 or M RST on PFI800
and hold it for 2 seconds
• Wait for 30 seconds (NV RAM will be cleared and
panel is not initialised) Reset
Button
• Remove H2 jumper in the panel
• Press reset button again for 2 seconds PFI800

• Wait for 2 minutes for the panel to initialise


• Now all Isolates have been removed and the Event
Log has been cleared!
