1. Statement of Problem: the “Why?” What is the goal of your project? What are the questions you want to answer? What is the analysis important? 2. Description of the Dataset(s): the “What?” In this section, you are expected to describe the dataset including information of the dataset such as the number of records (# of Columns and # of Rows), the specific fields, the data domain, and the URL for the data set etc.
3. Technical Approach: the “How?”
Although you may not know all the details of the problem solution, you should know a first design on how you will approach the problem, and you should have some design concepts. What are the data analytics methods you will employ? What are the steps you need to perform? Are there any technical problems you need to solve? How will you address the problems? Try to be as specific as possible. 4. Project Management: “How and When?” The Project Management section describes how the project will be managed, including a detailed timetable: who is doing what by when.
