In the ever-evolving landscape of education, technology plays a significant role in

shaping the learning experiences of students. As we delve into the effects of technology on the

motivation of Grade 12 students at AMA Computer College (Angeles Branch) for the academic

year 2023-2024, it becomes imperative to understand how this vital factor influences their drive

and determination. The rapid advancement of technology has undeniably transformed various

aspects of our lives, including education. In recent years, educational institutions have

increasingly integrated technology into their teaching and learning practices to enhance the

overall academic experience. One such institution is AMA Computer College (Angeles Branch),

which has embraced technology to support the education of its Grade 12 students.

The integration of technology in education has revolutionized the way students approach

their studies. From interactive learning tools to online resources, technology offers a wide array

of opportunities for students to enhance their educational journey. However, the impact of

technology on motivation is a diverse issue that requires a comprehensive examination.

The Respondents in this study will be Grade 12 students at AMA Computer College

– Angeles Branch located in Londale Building, Nepo Subd, 733 P.Santos St, Angeles, Pampanga.

The locale provides an ideal setting for examining the impact of technology on motivation and
engagement due to its student population and the existing level of technological integration in the

school.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of technology both good and

bad on the motivation of Grade 12 students at AMA Computer College (Angeles Branch) in the

academic year 2023–2024. By comprehending these effects, we can get important insights into

how technology affects students' motivation levels. These insights can then be used by educators

and institutions to develop tactics that maximize student accomplishment and engagement.

Students' engagement and success in their academic endeavors are greatly influenced by their

motivation. This study aims to provide light on the possible advantages and difficulties of

integrating technology in the classroom by analyzing how it affects students' motivation.

Students struggle to multitask when using technology for academic purposes because

it is a huge distraction for them. According to research, when needing to learn how to use

technology in the classroom, children are not the only ones that experience tension or stress

(Qurbani, 2022). Technology applications frequently yield products. Humans benefit from

technology when it is used wisely, but sadly, the opposite is true when technology is used

maliciously (Ramey, 2023). The integration of technology in the educational context has brought

promising opportunities for instructors and learners to increase the efficiency of the pedagogical

process (Yenkimaleki and van Heuven, 2019). The utilization of technology for academic

purposes often poses a significant challenge for Grade 12 students, as it can become a distraction

rather than a tool for learning. Thus, understanding the influence of technology on students'
motivation and engagement is crucial to enhance their academic performance and prepare them

for future endeavors.

Understanding how technology influences students' motivation is essential in

designing effective educational strategies and interventions that cater to the evolving needs of

21st-century learners. Additionally, this research seeks to provide insights into the potential

disparities in motivation levels among Grade 12 students at AMA Computer College (Angeles

Branch), considering factors such as gender, socioeconomic background, and prior technology

experience.

Utilizing a mixed-approaches strategy, the study will collect data using both qualitative

interviews and quantitative questionnaires. The qualitative information will be gathered through

in-depth interviews with a chosen sample of students, and the quantitative information will be

gathered using an organized questionnaire. Our goal is to provide more insight into how

technology can either help or hurt grade 12 learners’ motivation. Through comprehension of

these impacts, we can endeavor to utilize technology as an instrument that motivates and enables

learners to realize their maximum capabilities.

The findings of this research will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the

relationship between technology and student motivation. Furthermore, the outcomes will serve as

a valuable resource for educators, policymakers, and administrators in devising strategies to

foster a technologically enriched learning environment that promotes students' motivation and

academic performance.

In conclusion, this research aims to explore the effects of technology on the motivation in

academic performance of Grade 12 students at AMA Computer College (Angeles Branch) during

the academic year 2023-2024. By investigating this relationship, the study seeks to provide

valuable insights that can inform educational practices and contribute to the improvement of

students' learning experiences.
