Friends,

A
few words about ‘Eddelu Karnataka’. Eddelu Karnataka is
not associated with any political party. It is an independent
civil society platform and campaign. Thinkers, writers and
artists who are the conscience keepers of the nation constitute its
soul. Powerful organizations and people’s movements like that of
farmers, workers, labourers, Dalits, students, youth, women, sexual
minorities and transgender etc., who have been fighting selflessly
for the welfare of the people for many decades, have come together
to form the might of Eddelu Karnataka. It is a broad civic forum
with representatives from various communities as well [Such as
Dalits, Adivasis, Nomadic tribes, Backward classes, Vokkaliga,
Lingayat, Minority communities and other exploited sections.].

Considering the condition of the country, the deteriorating life

of the people and the political decline of the nation, the forum
has arrived at the certainty that the, “BJP, which is deceiving this
country and leading it towards destruction at a fast pace, should
be ousted from power in this 2024 elections. At the same time, no
matter who comes to power, we should not cow down to them or
compromise with our goals and ideals. We should remain alert and
constantly remind those in power of their duty towards the welfare
of the people.

On this occasion, we first of all make a humble request to the

people of this country. Do not cast your vote without giving it
serious consideration and forethought. “Verify for yourself even
what you get to see with your own eyes” is a well-known saying.
Verify the tenability of even these ideas that we are placing here
before you, and accept them only after you have judged their worth
and credibility. As the age-old wisdom of our people states, “You
should never trust those whose intentions are to strangle you”. The
lives of common people today are seriously deteriorating. Prices
2
are soaring, income is dwindling, loans are ever increasing, people
are worried and the future is bleak. But the assets and wealth of
Prime Minister Modi’s powerful corporate kingpin, Adani and
Ambani, have increased more than twenty times. Their wealth has
grown to such an extent that today they are among the richest men
in the world. BJP has become the richest party in the world by
consolidating illegal wealth. Functioning like a despotic dictator
it has destroyed all democratic values of our nation in the name
of caste and religion. It has fomented hatred, riots and atrocities
which have become a common norm of our society. People who
are to govern are now burning the nation. After you have read the
harsh truths discussed in this little book, the true nature of Modi’s
rule will be laid open before your eyes. You will realize that the
mainstream media that is sold out has blinded us with lies and false
information. It will become even more clearer to you after you take
a look at the reality, based on the facts we intend to present to you.

There are so many things to be said and discussed. Saying

everything means saying nothing. So, we have dedicated this book
to unravelling the 10 biggest betrayals against the people of India in
the last 10 years. Come let us first read what is written here, then we
will use our discretion and decide whom to vote this time.

What they promised:
If BJP comes to power, they will bring back black money, they
will bring down inflation. They will reduce the prices of essential
commodities. They will lower the price of petrol. They will provide
free gas cylinders to all BPL families.

What is really happening:

In the last ten years of BJP rule, the prices of all commodities have
either doubled or increased even more than that. Take a look at the
following examples...

The above list provides only a few examples. Hotel tariffs, bus
fares, train fares, prices of vegetables, meat, fish, clothing, slippers,
cement, iron, school fees, hospital bills - all have skyrocketed. The
common people are being robbed and cheated at every step.

What are the reasons for this?

 The 3 lies BJPprovides for the inevitable price rise:

1. The rising price of crude oil in the international market made this
hike in petrol prices inevitable,
7
2. The repayment of loans made by the Congress government on
oil bonds

3. Giving free vaccines during the Covid pandemic and Pradhan

Mantri Garib Kalyan Aahar scheme under which the rice distributed.

Now the real reasons behind the price rise;

First the biggest lie that the rising price of crude oil in the
international market. The reality is just the opposite -

 The price of crude oil in 2014 was $110 per barrel, it has
dropped to $76 by 2023.

 Raising the cess on petrol and diesel, reduction in subsidies,

and GST on all consumer goods - these are the primary
reasons for the price hike.

• The tax on petrol has been increased two-fold during this

period (from 9.48% to 19.98% per litre).

• The tax on diesel has been increased five-fold during this

period (from 3.56 % to 15.58 % per litre).

• Removal of the subsidy on cylinders (Rs. 500 per cylinder).

• 12% to 18% GST on all goods. Basic necessities of poor

households like salt, rice, wheat, and essential medicines are
now taxed at 12-18% GST. However, luxury cars purchased by
the affluent and rich are taxed at only 4% GST. Only 1.5% GST
on diamonds. Now please say on whose side this government
is?

• With the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, transportation

8
costs have also gone up, leading to a rise in the prices of all the
goods. Moreover, instead of imposing taxes on the companies
selling the goods, GST was levied on consumers, resulting in
the escalation of prices for all the goods.

Let us see where the money vanished;

 Additional revenue to the government due to the increase in

the tax on petrol is Rs. 26.74 lakh crore.

 Additional revenue to the government due to the imposition of

GST on the people is Rs. 31.25 lakh crore.

 If we combine both, the total additional revenue amounts to a

whopping 58 lakh crores.

 The cost of 2 doses of free vaccine is Rs. 36,500 crores

The vaccine was not provided entirely for free, except in some
places where only one dose was given for free. The Serum Institute
was allowed to sell the vaccine, which cost no more than 150 rupees,
for 600 to 700 rupees. The owner of this institute made thousands
of crores in profit and entered the list of the world’s wealthiest men.
He also contributed a thousand crores to Modi’s electoral Bonds.

The money spent on Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till date is 4.6 lakh
crore.

 The money spent by this government to pay the Petroleum

Bonds Loan is 1.03 lakh crore rupees. To repay the one lakh
crore loan taken by the congress did the government have to
steal the people of58 lakh crore rupees?

9
Let us now add up all the expenditure claimed by them and see all
the income gained by them;
Expenses:
Petroleum bonds – Rs. 1.03 Lakh crores,
Free vaccine – Rs. 36,500 crores
Garib Ahaar Yojana – Rs. 4.6 lakh crores
Rs. 6 Lakh Crores
Income:
Petrol and diesel cess and GST are Rs. 58 Lakh Crores.
Balance Rs. 52 Lakh Crores are directly looted from the people
by the Mode led BJP government.

10
11
What they promised:

 We will ensure that the farmers are paid at least one and a half
times the cost incurred by them for growing their crops, as
recommended by the Swaminathan Commission report.

 We will double the income of farmers by 2022.

 We will waive off farmers’ loans. We will provide interest-free

loans to every farmer family up to Rs. 1 lakh.

What they finally did:

They did not keep any of their promises. And instead…

 Six months into returning to power, the BJP-led Modi

government informed the Supreme Court that it is not feasible to
implement the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations.

 The government has reduced the annual agriculture budget

allocation by 30 %.

 Due to the central government’s reduction in agricultural

subsidies, the prices of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, diesel and
other inputs have increased.

 The government is gradually cutting funds and systematically

undermining the NREGA scheme. While the scheme requires
Rs. 2.72 lakh crore annually, only Rs. 73,000 crores have been
allocated in the 2023-24 budget, which is just a fraction of the
required amount.

 Farmers’ loans were not waived off. To waive off the loans of
all the farmers in the country only Rs. 5 lakh crore is required.

12
However, the central government claims it cannot do it due to
lack of funds. But during the same period, loans to corporate
companies to the tune of Rs. 30 lakh crores were waived off.

 The burden of loans on Farmer families has increased by 30%.

They are trapped in the vicious cycle of debt.

 The central government has misused the ‘National Disaster

Relief Fund’ as well. No assistance is provided to farmers for
the crop loss due to floods, droughts or any other disasters.
Instead, the farmers are driven towards crop insurance. Crop
insurance is entirely in the hands of the private companies,
leading to the great exploitation of the farmers.

 According to official statistics for the past ten years, 1,74,000

farmers have committed suicide. This means that every day, on
an average 30 farmers are unable to bear the hardships of their
life and resort to death.

 The exodus of farmers from villages to cities has intensified

due to the abysmally low selling price of farmers’ produce,
lack of work in the villages, and the absence of a viable means
to repay loans. Over the last six years from 2016 to 2023, four
crore people have migrated from villages to cities.

 The central government is hellbent to implement the three

anti-farmer agricultural laws.

 Through nefarious amendment acts the government is shutting

down the Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs)
established for the support of farmers.

 Through amendments to land Act, the companies are being

given opportunities to easily acquire farmers’ lands.
13
 By amending land acquisition laws, companies are being
provided with opportunities to lease farmers’ lands.

 Despite facing fierce hostility from the government, farmers

protested relentlessly in the streets of Delhi for more than a
year, with genuine, intense and historically significant protests.
Tragically, 752 farmers, including women farmers, lost their
lives during this struggle. In Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri,
where peaceful protests were being conducted, eight farmers
lost their lives as a result of the actions of BJP MP Ajay Mishra
Teni’s son who deliberately drove a vehicle right into the
protest. Even though this wanton killing of farmers unfolded
before everyone’s eyes, Ajay Mishra was not removed from
his ministerial post, and no strict action was taken against him.
And despite various other cunning tactics and manipulations
to intimidate and disperse the farmers, they did not waver.
When Uttar Pradesh elections approached, Modi, suddenly
appeared on the TV screens, seeking forgiveness from the
farmers, promising to repeal all three laws and address their
other demands as well. After the central government provided
a written assurance on the same, the farmers returned to their
houses. However, even though a year has passed since then,
the Modi government has shown no sign of fulfilling any of its
promises. Modi government has betrayed the farmers of India.

What are the reasons for this?

 The reason is clear. The government has decided to drive

away farmers from their land, wrest control from them
and hand over their fields and the produce to corporate
companies.

 Adani and Ambani have already made significant investments

in the agricultural sector. They have control over the seeds,
14
fertilizers, pesticides, tractors and tillers and other farm
equipments used by the farmers. Now, their focus is on farmers’
lands and crops. Therefore, they are pushing for amendments
to the APMC Act, Land Acquisition Act, and Land Leasing
Act.

 Corporates stance is either to acquire the farmers lands or

control the produce they grow, especially the primary produce
and compel them to sell directly to them at their dictates. The
central government, which should be protecting the farmers,
is all for supporting the corporate interests. It is aligning
itself with the agendas of corporate companies to undermine
agriculture and the farming community. Hence making all
efforts to amend the farm laws.

 To protect their lives and livelihoods, farmers’ organizations

across the country have united in a life-and-death struggle. The
Modi government is trying to instil fear among the farmers,
treating them as terrorists and trying to suppress their struggle.
Only if this struggle succeeds, the farming community will
survive. Otherwise, they will be pushed to the margins and
turn into destitute labour.

15
16
What they promised:

 We will create 2 crore new jobs every year. (This means, in the
last 10 years, they should have created 20 crore jobs.)

 We will provide skill training to 40 crore people by 2022 as

part of ‘Skill India’ initiative.

 We will ensure more employment opportunities for women.

What really is happening:

 The field of education has been converted into a profit-

making business venture. The government has cut down on
the budgetary allocation and grants for education, leaving it
vulnerable for exploitation by private entities.

 Despite obtaining degrees such as Bachelor of Arts (BA),

Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.),
Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc), Diploma, ITI
(Industrial Training Institute), and Engineering, under great
difficulties and after having put their parents under heavy
financial burden, millions of youths are struggling to find
employment. Dreams of a better life have been shattered.

 Advertisements for Jobs that require only an educational

qualification of 10th gradecompletion, are receiving
applications from hundreds of thousands of youths who have
done their education up to M.A., B.A., and even Ph.D.

 50 lakh applications coming through for 16,000 posts In Uttar

Pradesh, in 2023, indicates the severity of unemployment.

 Millions of graduates and postgraduates with degrees or

17
double degrees are struggling for guest lecturer positions or
even contractual positions with salaries ranging from Rs. 6000
to 12000.

 The unemployment rate in the country, which was at 2.1% ten

years ago, has now surged to 8.1%.

 Unemployed youth from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand,

Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, in particular, are seeking job
opportunities by traveling to South India.

 The youth are forced to take any jobs that are not of their
choice, far away from home and far from their dreams.

Reasons for this:

 Due to the decline in agriculture, many young people are

unable to sustain their livelihoods in villages and are migrating
to urban areas in large numbers in search of managing their
lives.

 Even in the cities jobs are disappearing fast. In the first

five years of the NDA government 2014-2019, 60 lakh
government positions were left vacant without being filled. In
addition to this, the government refuses to provide accurate
statistical information regarding vacant posts. Perhaps the
number of unfilled vacancies has doubled now. In all the
governmentdepartments, a bare minimal skeletal staff is
carrying out sloppy work or work is being carried out with
the aid of low paid contractual labour. This is part of the
Government’s plan to weaken its institutions and hand them
over to private companies.

18
 Every year, 50,000 people used to be recruited into the armed
forces. But now, the “Agniveer” scheme has brought a halt to
these recruitments. 75% of those recruited by the “Agniveer”
scheme”, will become unemployed after four years.

 Small and medium business enterprises and cottage industries

have been severely affected. Non-availability of government
support, GST, demonetization, the lack of assistance during
the COVID period coupled with the inability of these
small business enterprises to compete with large corporate
enterprises, has led to this situation. The central government is
directly responsible for the losses suffered and the consequent
closing down of 25% to 33% of medium enterprises and about
40% of small trade. As a result, millions of jobs have been lost.

 The central government is deeply invested in nurturing giant

corporations like those belonging to Adani and Ambani.
This has resulted in the neglect of its responsibility to create
job avenues in the publics sector, and in small and medium
business enterprises. As a result, the future the youth are being
destroyed.

19
20
What they Promised:

 Workers’ welfare, respect to labour

 Respecting and paying homage to municipal workers

What has actually happened:

 Revocation of all rights and privileges of workers

 Removal of all rights of unorganised / daily wage / contractual

workers. Without any job security, workers are in a precarious
situation. Contractual labour is a modern form of slave labour.
These labourers are not provided with any benefits and can be
hired and fired at will.

 No job security, no provident fund (PF), no Employee State

Insurance (ESI), no pension, no bonus.

 The salaries of contractual workers is humiliating. The average

monthly salary for contractual lecturers with double degrees is
around Rs. 8,000 per month.

 Most municipal workers still endure degrading and harsh work

conditions, earning meagre wages as they continue to descend
into gutters and keep our cities clean. The cheap drama of
Modi’s public ritual of worshipping their feet has brought no
dignity to their lives. Municipal workers who clean the streets
and sewage on an averageearn a pittance of 5,000 rupees per
month.

 Rural and urban women scheme workers serving as ASHA

workers, Anganwadi workers, and mid-day meal staff on an
average receive a low salary of 5,000 rupees per month.

21
 Ola, Uber, Swiggy, Zomato, workers who spend their whole
days on the streets, leaving their homes and hopes, earn an
average of 10,000 rupees per month.

 The livelihood of auto/ taxi drivers is uncertain, and their

earnings are also as uncertain as winning the lottery since it
all now depends on app-based companies like Ola and Uber.

 How can labourers survive with such demeaning paltry

incomes? How can they manage the sustenance of their
families under the burden of rising prices? How can they pay
their children’s school fees? In case of illness, they have to
resort to taking loans. In addition to all these they have to send
back money to their aged parents living in the village. How can
they even dream of building their own house?

 As if this was not enough, this devious government has

extended the working hours from 8 hours to 12 hours per
day. Until now, working 8 hours a day was an international
labour standard that was established 100 years ago as a
result of prolonged intense labour struggles. By disregarding
international laws and extending the working hours by 4 hours
morethe government has paved way for added exploitationof
workers.

Reasons for this:

 To increase the profits of corporate companies and decrease

the expenses of the government.

 By removing the basic rights of the workers, by reducing

employment options and increasing educated skilled labourers,
who are unemployed and desperate, they can be forced as
underpaid 12 hour working slaves. To addto such, by training
22
few people under useless programmes like skill India just so
there are skilled slaves for corporate profits.

 The availability of experienced and skilled workers who have

received training, at cheap wages, will attract foreign investors
who will pay part of this dividend from cheap labour to the
corrupt government.

 In simple terms, the policy of the Modi government can be

summed up as “Suppress the workers and empower the
corporates.”

23
24
What they promised:

 “I am a fakir, a humble tea seller at railway platforms.”

 “My sole aim is to provide a contented life to everybody.”

 “Sab ka sath sab ka vikas”

What has actually happened:

 The lives of ordinary people are deteriorating, while the

income, assets, and wealth of the big capitalists are increasing.

 One percent of the population of the country holds as much as

one-third of the country’s wealth.

 The number of multi-millionaires in this country has increased

from 56 to 169.

 Adani and Ambani, close associates of Modi, currently occupy

the top two positions on the list of the wealthiest individuals
in the country.

 Adani’s wealth was 25,792 crores in 2013, and by 2022, it had

reached 7,48,800 crores. That means it has increased by 30
times during this period.

 Ambani’s wealth was 1,54,742 crores in 2014, and by 2022, it

has become 7,54,620 crores. That means it has increased by 5
times during this period.

What are the reasons behind this bizarre growth of a few:

 The Modi government is essentially a government sponsored

25
by corporate companies. It was Ambani who invested in the
rise of Modi as the Prime Minister by sidelining Vajpayee
and Advani. Adani is the one who brokered deals between the
corporate companies and the RSS.

 When Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, corporate

companies were given unlimited and unrestricted freedom.
Due to this, they supported Modi. They promised to support
BJP and RSS if Modi was made the Prime Minister. Companies
needed their control on government control, in order to control
the nation and its resources. And the RSS - BJP needed the
help of these corporate companies to form the government and
stay put there with utmost power. An agreement was struck.
The Modi government is the offshoot of this opportunistic and
sinister agreement.

 As soon as they assumed power, all the public assets held by

the government were swiftly privatized and sold off to the
private companies at meagre prices. Profitable entities like
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, North East Electric
Power Corporation, Tehri Hydro Development Corporation
Limited, Kamarajar Port, Air India, among hundreds of others,
were sold off to private entities under the guise of privatization.
Ambani’s Jio Phone company has been given undue advantage
by choking BSNL. Even airports, railways, and railway lines
are being privatized and sold off to private entities. All these
that were built at huge public costs now handed over to a
handful of big corporates for nothing.

 The Modi government has been boasting that it has developed

and improved national highways. In reality, the project of
the development of national highways, spanning 26,700
kilometres, at an expense of 8 lakh crores is being handed over
to tycoons like Adani and Ambani for 1.6 lakh crores. Under
26
the leadership of Modi, 400 railway stations, 741 kilometres of
Konkan Railway, 265 railway goods sheds, 90 passenger trains,
25 major airports, assets of NTPC, NHPC, Indian Oil, Bharat
Petroleum, gas pipeline authority, ports, 39% of FCI storage
facilities, 160 stone quarries, mines, 2.86 lakh OFC cables...
All of theseare being privatized and handed over to private
individuals / corporate companies [in return for electoral
bonds as kickbacks], What else is this but the auctioning off
of the country.

 Instead of distributing the millions of acres of government

land among the poor, the Modi government has allocated it
to corporate companies. Millions of acres of land have been
forcefully acquired from farmers and handed over to them
under the pretext of development. Forest dwellers’ lives have
been turned to a state of imprisonment by fencing them within
altered forest laws, while companies have been provided with
forest land under the show of developing tourism, conducting
research and initiating development projects.

 Many mistakenly believe that the wealthy deposit their money

in banks, which then lend it to the poor. In reality, it is the
common people who deposit money in the banks. Most of
this money is given as loans to companies. The phenomenon
of Companies not returning loans has increased significantly.
Instead of seizing the assets of the companies that did not
repay loans, around 30 lakh crores worth of loans of these have
been waived.

 The burden on the people shot up through raising the cess on

petrol and diesel, and GST in the past ten years. But tax waivers
worth 55 lakh crores have been given to some billionaires.

 The tax on corporate companies has been reduced from

27
33% to 25%. Old companies are diversifying into various
fields under new names. The tax on these, under the guise of
encouragement for new companies, has been reduced to 15%.
We must remember that nowhere in the world do companies
enjoy such low taxes.

 In the last 10 years, the waivers and tax exemptions granted

to corporate companies exceed the annual budget of the entire
country. Therefore, the Modi government is akin to heaven
for these companies. [what may seem like a heaven for
corporations is often only hell for the common people.]

 Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal has directly stated in the Delhi

Legislative Assembly, in great details, that “Adani” is Modi’s
“benami” (proxy). He has exposed how everything owned by
Adani is actually owned by Modi. He has revealed how they
have transferred the vast public wealth of the country to the
Adani company and how, during every foreign trip, they have
pressurised the governments there to extend all benefit to the
Adani company. (The full video is available on YouTube.)

 The harsh reality that needs to be understood here is that

the Modi government is a government of the corporates, by
the corporates, and for the corporates. It has given complete
liberty to business corporations to loot public wealth, oppress
farmers, exploit labourers, and monopolize trade in all
sectors without leaving any room for competition. There is a
naked nexus between few selected corporates and the central
government. This is the government of the supra rich Gujarati
Marwadis. Open your eyes now. Ham do, hamare do...Two
wealthy Marwadis, along with two others, are wreaking havoc
on the country on one side, and on the other, they are filling
their treasure chests. The country is trapped in the net of these
great villains, the great traitors of the country and its people.
28
29
What they promised:

 “We will eradicate corruption”

 “We will bring back black money”

 “We will bring back all unaccounted wealth of Indians hidden

in Swiss banks.”

 “We will directly credit 15 lakh rupees, to each person’s

account out of this reclaimed unaccounted wealth.”

What happened next:

 In all the states where the BJP came to power, corruption has
exceeded all limits. We have witnessed firsthand the infamous
40% government of the BJP in Karnataka. The heads of the
contractors’ association themselves made direct accusations
against the government, and one of the contractors even wrote
a suicide note directly accusing the government for his death,
before killing himself.

 Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Mehul Choksi, and 46

other ‘bank robbers’ have embezzled public money and fled
abroad. Not a single billionaire thief has faced prosecution.
Not a single one of them has been apprehended and brought
back.

 Forget unearthing the Swiss bank list, BJP has used all its
power and might to keep the names on the SBI list hidden.

 The demonitisation of high denomination currency notes

led to the suffering of people across the country. It pushed
small traders to the streets, and the government did not bring

30
back even a single rupee of black money. Around 170 senior
citizens, most of them while standing in long queues to
exchange currency notes, tragically lost their lives due to the
government’s negligence.

 Even though the Panama Papers revealed the list of international

criminals, and many Indian names were found in it, no action
was taken against even a single criminal.

 Even though numerous scams involving thousands of crores

of rupees in projects like Rafale, 2G, coal scam, Vyapam,
Krishna-Godavari basin, Bitcoin, and many others came to
light, no serious investigation was conducted into any one of
these scams, and no one was held accountable.

 All of these prove the existence of a vast network of organized

high rank corruption racket. But even worse, under the
appearance of the Election Bonds, the BJP has collected a
large amount of corrupt money. Through donations from 33
companies, the Modi government received contributions
totalling ₹1,751 crore and in return handed those companies
over ₹3.7 lakh crore worth of government contracts. After
receiving these contracts, 192 companies funnelled ₹551 crore
in commission to BJP accounts under the guise of electoral
bonds. Legal action was taken against companies that did not
donate to the BJP through electoral bonds. Threatened with
investigations by the CBI and ED, many of these companies
were forced to pay ₹2,471 crore in bonds soon after which the
threat of investigation on them was lifted.

 Hundreds of crores (in electoral bonds) were given as

commission in return for government approval of the covid
vaccine and covid tablets.

31
 While playing the card of cow protection on the streets, the
Modi government has encouraged the export of Beef and
has received commission from the beef exporting companies
through electoral bonds.

 Through the ‘PM CARES’ fund large amounts of illegitimate

money has been acquired by the government. However, details
regarding who contributed the money and how it has been
utilized have been concealed from the public, hoodwinking
the people of this country.

 A self-declared law has been enacted by the government,

stating that there is no need to disclose information about
the ‘Electoral Bond’ and ‘PM CARES Fund’, leading to the
misuse of billions of rupees. With the Supreme Court stepping
in and blowing the whistle, all the scandals have come to light.
BJP is trying to divert people’s attention by sending Kejriwal
to jail, shouting “thief”, in an attempt to cover up their own
mega loot.

What are the reasons for this:

 The slogan “Corruption-Free India” was merely a strategy by

the BJP to portray itself as a principled corruption free party
and label the Congress as corrupt. It was purely a political
tactic aimed at branding itself as the honest party.

 The BJP is fully engulfed in corruption. From Yeddyurappa

to all the other Chief Ministers of the BJP, they have all been
extremely corrupt.

 The BJP continues to run all the scams and corrupt activities
while portraying Modi as a humble fakir.

32
 Massive amounts of public assets are being handed over to
the private companies for a pittance in return for commission
to the government. The country is being sold off in bits and
pieces.

 Using government agencies like ED, IT, and CBI, the BJP has
plunged into a deep pit of corruption. Electoral bonds and PM
CARES funds serve as vaults for BJP’s corrupt money.

 The information that Adani Group belongs to Modi has

begun to emerge.

 The BJP is operating like a large mafia gang. From top to

bottom, it is under the control of criminals with no bar.

33
34
What they promised:

 Social justice

 Giving top priority to the marginalized

 Implementation of Internal reservations

What actually happened next:

 Large scale protests for reservations.

 Several communities demanding internal reservations

 False promise of providing justice, before every election.

 None of the communities that are fighting for reservation have

been considered for reservation.

 The necessary amendments to Section 341/3 of the Constitution,

to address the issue of internal reservation, although pending
for many years, have not been brought up for even a debate, let
alone approved, even though they have been tabled.

 If reservation is to be provided to all backward, Dalit, tribal,

and Shudra communities, then the maximum limit of 50%
reservation should be removed. However, so far, the BJP has
not uttered a word on this matter.

But instead, the BJP has done the following…

 Even though government posts remain vacant, they are being

deliberately left unfilled. Through the practice of contracts in
government departments and public sectors, efforts are being

35
made to render reservation meaningless.

 Under the guise of reservation, communities are being pitted

against each other, fuelling street-level conflicts. People
are being led to believe that their community will be given
reservations, but in reality, they are being manipulated to serve
someone else’s agenda. Ultimately, no one is being given
anything, and everyone is being deceived.

 The BJP refuses to accept the caste census of Karnataka

conducted with the intention of ensuring justice for the
marginalized communities. They are unwilling to conduct a
new caste census. Conducting a comprehensive caste census
would enable an accurate estimation of the population and
socio-economic status of each caste, facilitating appropriate
reservation policies. However, the BJP does not agree with this
scientific approach.

 Although the community never asked for it, BJP provided a

new kind of reservation only to the Brahmin community. It has
given 10% reservation to a privileged community comprising
of only 4% of the population of this country. There has been
no study carried out or minimum discussion initiated before
the implementation of this reservation. It has been enforced
directly through executive orders. What is strange is that even
the maximum limit of 50% reservation is not a hindrance to
this move. While other communities struggle and fight for
reservation, this community has got it without asking. When
other communities struggle for reservation, the doors of
reservation remain closed to them. Reservation politics today
is a significant battlefield in the political sphere.

36
What are the reasons for this:

 BJP is just a front organisation for RSS politics.

 RSS is fundamentally a Brahminical organisation.

 RSS has been opposing reservation since the beginning.

 Even when the Mandal Commission report recommending

reservation for backward castes was approved, it faced
opposition from groups like the ABVP and Vishwa Hindu
Parishad. This should be remembered.

 The promise of increase in reservations for communities

like the Maadiga, Lambanis, and Bovis, and the promise of
reservations for Adivasis by the BJP, is merely a deceptive
tactic aimed at deceiving the people again and gaining their
votes.

 The BJP is basically a party based on casteism and hence

opposed to reservation policies per say. It has no considerations
for social realities, equality and justice.

 If we fail to clearly understand on whose side the BJP is despite

all above observations, then we must question ourselves.
For marginalized communities to trust the BJP is like sheep
trusting a butcher.

37
38
What they promised:

 “Mahila Samman”

 “Beti Bachao – Beti Padao”

 Importance to women in employment opportunities

 Reservation for women in politics

 Legislation for the development of gender minorities.

What is actually happening:

 Women who bear the primary responsibility of family are

under immense pressure due to inflation.

 Due to increasing unemployment and migration, women are

experiencing a higher burden of responsibilities.

 Due to immense responsibilities of the family with meagre

resources women depriving themselves andmalnutrition
among them is increasing. India ranks 107th in malnutrition,
out of 126 countries globally, according to the nutritional
indices.

 Instead of increasing, the women’s participation in the

workforce in India is decreasing. With job opportunities
shrinking, there is heavy competition even for existing jobs,
leading to further marginalization of women.

 Women are increasingly engaged in informal and unorganized

work sectors, where they often receive extremely lowwages.
Even in service-oriented jobs that are predominantly occupied

39
by women, the wages provided by the government are often
demeaning, with the average being five thousand rupees per
month.

 In the past 10 years, cases of sexual harassment, violence,

and abuse against women have increased. While there were
2,28,650 cases reported in 2011, by 2022, the number had
risen to 4,28,278 cases. This indicates a significant rise in such
incidents.

 According to a study conducted by India Spend, in the last

five years, incidents of violence against gender minorities have
increased by about four and a half percent.

 Although the announcement on women’s reservation in

political institutions has been made, its implementation has
been postponed to after 2034... isn’t this also an attempt to
deceive women during election time?

 Even as it is opposed by the sexuality minorities, the

Transgender Act and Rules has been approved in the legislative
assembly.

What are the reasons for this:

 The BJP and Sangh Parivar primarily advocate male

dominance. They have a history of opposing even legislations
meant to enable women’s rights, such as the “Hindu Code Bill”
proposed by Ambedkar. Their ideology asserts that “women
should be subordinate to men whose only duty is nurturing and
taking care of children.”

 Numerous cases of atrocities perpetrated by the leaders of

the BJPagainst women have emerged. In the Unnao case, six
40
BJP members, including Kuldeep Singh, were involved. In
the Kathua case in Kashmir, seven BJP-affiliated individuals
were involved in the brutal rape and murder of a child. In the
Bilkees Bano case in Gujarat, seven criminals associated with
the BJP were found guilty. The case of sexual harassment of
female wrestlers by Brij Bhushan Singh is the most recent of
these incidents. BJP has defended all of them and publicly
supported or even hailed the criminals. In Manipur, even
when women were publicly harassed and humiliated, Prime
Minister remained silent. Under such circumstances, what
do the perpetrators of sexual harassment and crimes against
women and sexual minorities need to fear?

 The BJP, after accepting the Women’s Reservation Bill

in parliament, and after pretending to implement it under
public pressure, revised its stance after the elections, and has
ultimately deceived the people by stating that it would be
implementing the Bill only after 2034.

 The “Nalsa judgment” that upheld the rights of sexualminorities,

has provided clear guidelines to the government. However,
instead of implementing it, the government has passed a bill in
the parliament and obtained approval for it. It is yet to be passed
in the Rajya Sabha. All organizations of sexual minorities
oppose this because it demands that gender identity be verified
by the government officials. This is a highly demeaning and
oppressive position towards the community. Moreover, the bill
rejects the community’s right to marriage, to adopt children,
and inherit property through succession.

 The BJP, while claiming to speak for the welfare of women and
sexual minorities, is actually deceiving them and undermining
their lives.

41
42
What they promised:

 Karnataka will be made into the land of Basavanna

 The centre will offer complete cooperation to Karnataka and

its development

 Even though the status of Classical language was given to

Kannada in 2008 declaration, not a single step has been taken
to develop it.

What is happening next:

 The BJP, for its petty political gains, is sowing seeds of caste
and religious discord within a state that has nurtured values of
compassion promoted by Sharanas, sages, Sufis, and spiritual
leaders. Engaging in divisive tactics and stoking communal
tensions among various communities is a great betrayal of
the principles advocated by Basavanna, and the saints, and
philosophers of Karnataka.

 The BJP advocates the promotion of Hindi and Sanskrit and

views Kannada as a rival. It gives importance to only the
national anthem and disregards the state anthem.

 The central government instead of supporting the development

of Karnataka is draining the funds of Karnataka every year.
The implementation of GST has ensured that states receive
no proper revenue. All taxes collected go to the central
government through GST. The GST has to be returned to
various states based on a formula. This has pushed the states
into a pitiable dependent condition where they are unable to
meet their obligations.

43
 In the last five years, Karnataka has contributed Rs. 14 lakh
crores in taxes to the central government. However, the
amount returned to Karnataka is only around Rs. 1.56 lakh
crores. During the same period, Gujarat has contributed only
Rs. 7 lakh crores (half of Karnataka’s contribution) in taxes
to the central government, but it has received around Rs. 1.51
lakh crores (approximately the same as Karnataka). Karnataka
stands second in the country in terms of contributing the highest
amount of taxes but ranks tenth in terms of receiving its share
of the taxes collected. This disparity has been questioned by
the state on several occasions.

 Recognizing this apparent disparity, the Finance Commission

has recommended a special grant of Rs. 11,495 crores to
Karnataka. However, Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister
who is elected to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, has stated
on one occasion that it is not possible to provide the grant. On
another occasion, she claimed that the Finance Commission
has never made such a recommendation.

 In 2019, when Karnataka faced severe flood, the state

government had requested an emergency assistance of Rs.
35,000 crores. However, the central government approved
only Rs. 1800 crores. Even that amount was not disbursed that
year; And the following year, when the state faced a drought
situation, only Rs. 1300 crores were released for the same.

 During the COVID-19 pandemic, although even the BJP-led

state governments were pleading for aid from the centre, the
central government that was busy profiting from the situation,
did not provide much support.

 Even though Karnataka is facing a severe drought crisis now,

the central government is not coming to its aid.
44
 The Congress government in Karnataka had requested
additional rice from the centre (for a cost) as part of the
Anna Bhagya scheme. Although there was plenty of rice in
the government godowns, the central government did not
provide rice to the people of Karnataka. Instead, they are now
packaging the same rice, sealing it with Modi’s stamp, and
selling it under the name of “Bharat Rice”.

What are the reasons for this:

 The BJP believes in the principle of “One Nation, One Land,

One Language, One Economy, One Religion.” This policy
hinders the development of states that have diverse languages,
cultures, and economies. It is also a hurdle to the idea of a
federal structure on which this nation was built.

 Using this “One” principle opportunistically, the BJP is

attempting to eliminate the uniqueness that the various states
in this country possess. As part of this, it has introduced the
uniform GST system, centralizing all taxation and making
states dependent on the centre.

 The hidden agenda behind centralizing all powers in the hands

of the centre and using this supreme authority to control the
entire Indian economy is to benefit its corporate allies and
extremely corrupt individuals.

 The BJP while chanting the One mantra does not believe in the
idea of one caste, one community or one class. To consolidate
all power in its hands, it employs the ‘one’ mantra, and to
preserve its authority, it resorts to the ‘divide and rule’ tactics.
The BJP’s ideology poses an obstacle to the democratic system,
the identity of Karnataka, and the development of Karnataka.

45
46
What they promised:

 To re-establish “Dharma”

What is happening actually:

 The true meaning of ‘dharma’ is ‘justice’. Establishing

dharma means establishing justice. But what is the BJP
doing? It is engaging in politics in the name of religion.
It incites conflict between religions, fuels disputes between
castes, and stirs up trouble for its own political gain. This is
not dharma; it is treason against the people. It is adharma.

 The BJP’s alliances with big corporates, its policies dictated

by corporate interests, its methods of manipulating people for
its own gains, and mainly its utter mismanagement and loot
of public funds and throughbonds—all these require diverting
people’s attention elsewhere. To ensure that people continue
to support it despite its despicable actions, the BJP desperately
relies on the veil of religion.

 The BJP is trying to legalise the sinister practice of categorizing

citizenship on the basis of religion, by implementing the
Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register
of Citizens (NRC). It has the inhumane and evil mindset
of building walls among various religious communities,
designating some as second-class citizens and segregatingthem
from others.

 The central government is emerging as an autocratic authority,

brutally suppressing voices that strive to reveal the facts. The
blood stains of several dissenters like Kalburgi and Gauri
Lankesh is stuck in their hands. They unjustly imprisoned
and silenced fierce fighters for social justice like Father Stan
47
Swamy, Anand Teltumbde, Varavara Rao, Prof. G.N. Saibaba,
Umar Khalid, and many others. They had deprived Father Stan
Swamy of even the basic medical care and facilities while he
was severely ill, leading to his death in jail.

 Opposition leaders’ residences and offices/businesses are being

raided by the IT/ED, CBI, thus exerting pressure on them to
abandon their parties and join the BJP.

 Legislations are being passed without allowing debate in the

parliament. Opposition MPs who raise questions are being
suspended and silenced. Democracy is being suppressed. BJP
dreams of an opposition free parliament.

What are the reasons for this:

 The BJP and its affiliated Sangh Parivar are forces that do not
adhere to the democratic system or the constitution of this
country.

 In several meetings, Member of Parliament Anant Kumar

Hegde has directly stated, “Changing the Constitution is our
goal.” Their fundamental aim is to re-establish Manusmriti
in the name of Hinduism and to establish absolute power by
dismantling the constitution in the name of Hindu tradition.

 The Indian Constitution embodies principles of freedom,

equality, fraternity, and social justice. The BJP opposes all
these principles. It seeks to undermine freedom of speech
for the people, media, opposition parties, and proponents of
democracy. It aims to dismantle economic and social equality,
the concept of welfare state, subsidies, and government support
programs. It desires to destroy the tradition of coexistence
among various religious communities and is against advocating
48
harmony.

 The BJP aims to consolidate unchecked authoritarian

governance without any resistance, provide unrestricted
opportunities for the greed of private corporates, and restore the
highest positions in the society to ‘upper’ castes domination.

 In sum, the BJP party has embarked on a mission to establish

authoritarian corporate rule under the guise of religion. In
pursuit of this, they have resorted to all illegitimate means
to win elections again. If they come to power again, they
will institutionalize governance that permanently maintains
all power and domination within the upper castes and supra
rich circles. This governance model, in the garb of “Hindu
Nation” and “Dharma Samsad,” aims to establish the supreme
authority of the ‘upper’ castes. Nullifying India’s democratic-
constitutional system it would subject our country to a new
tyranny in the name of religion.

Is it possible to fall into the same pit twice?

Can one forget the experiences of the past ten years and vote
for the BJP again?

49
Friends,

L
ured by the colourful words of the decadent party
called BJP and its fraudulent leader Modi, many people
voted for Modi again, hoping for better days ahead.
But in these past ten years, the lives of ordinary people have
deteriorated, the prices of all essential commodities have
skyrocketed, farmers have reached the brink of abandoning
agriculture, yet they continue to resist the government without
any respite. Any hope of a better life for the youth has been
decimated. Job opportunities have plummeted. The concept of
permanent employment seems to be fading away, and a form of
modern slavery is flourishing across all sectors. Meanwhile, the
big corporations are thriving. They have been given free rein
to plunder public wealth. Corruption has found an ever-high
boom. Extortion under the label of electoral bonds / election
funds is rampantly prevalent, and IT/ED/CBI agencies are
being used as tools of the government for intimidation. Social
justice is being forgotten. Inter-caste conflicts are being fuelled,
and the very fabric of society is being torn apart. Criminals are
being glorified, and atrocities are being endorsed. Karnataka’s
heritage, pride, and economy are being destroyed by ruthless
forces. Sinister schemes to subvert the constitution and
democracy of this country are being executed with impunity.

The final opportunity to preserve this country, its harmony, the

livelihoods of its people, and its glorious heritage lies in our
hands. Do not fall into the same old decrepit pit again. Let us
not be deceived again. It is indeed a harsh reality of life that
no matter which party comes to power, our toil for living must
continue. However, if the BJP returns to power, the country
may not even survive. Therefore, it is imperative to teach a
lesson to this manipulative and arrogant government. We

50
must demonstrate the resolve of the people and remove them
from power. We need to organize ourselves and safeguard our
interests regardless of who holds power. We must take charge
and rebuild our nation once again.

COME, LET US UNITE AND RESOLVE TO DEFEAT

THE ANTI-CONSTITUTIONAL DICTATORS.

This COUNTRY is ours

The WEALTH IT HOLDS is ours

All its LANGUAGES are ours

All its RELIGIONS are ours

All its COLOURS are ours

This CONSTITUTION is ours – DEMOCRACY is ours

VICTORY is ours –TOMORROW is ours

Enough is enough! India must Wake up!

Wake up Karnataka… Wake up India!
