CHAPTER 8.

LIMITATION AND SCOPE FOR FUTURE RESEARCH

Below are the limitations of the present research study and recommendations for further research:
 In this research, eight factors along with twenty-four sub-factors have been considered that
influence e-government adoption and job performance. However, more factors can be
added such as cultural factors, civic-mindedness factors, managerial factors, internet
penetration and familiarity factors that can influence e-government adoption which has not
been considered in this study. Similarly, more factors of job performance like organization
structure, culture, reward, etc. can be considered to get more valid results.
 This study has also not considered any moderating factors such as age, gender, education,
computer literacy, etc. The demographic factors may influence the relationship between e-
government adoption and job performance. Future studies need to investigate the impact
of moderating factors on e-government adoption and job performance
 The study has been conducted among employees of the e-district offices of Uttarakhand in
India, the results may vary for other e-government services in other terrain-specific states
or countries; therefore, the results cannot be generalised to all the state. In the future, a
similar kind of study can be replicated and the findings can be extended to large samples
in other states or countries. This would allow comparing e-government adoption among
employees with different mission mode projects.
 This research has discussed the e-government adoption from an employee perspective
which is a part of human resource management subject, whereas hardware, software, cloud
computing and server architecture are not included in any discussion. These information
technology topics should be combined to make it interdisciplinary research.
 In the future scope of the study, a comparative analysis can be done on the employees
where researchers can investigate the employee job performance in manual government
with e-government. The research can additionally investigate the impact of e-government
adoption among employees on other factors such as job satisfaction, organization
performance, etc.
Chapter Summary 8

Limitation and Future Scope. The study presents the future research perspectives by not limited
to eight factors, more factors can be added in the future research. Also, the future study can focus
on considering moderating factors like age, gender, qualification, etc. Furthermore, the different
statistical tool can be applied to identify the results may differ. The study is limited to the state of
Uttarakhand, the result may vary in states or countries.
