Take Leave To Heal The Heart

By Ressha Nicole J. Taboada

One member of the House Of Representative introduce the House bill 9931 or the Heartbreak
Recovery and Resilience which allow government and private sector employees to take an
unpaid leave to cope up with their emotional struggles caused by break ups.

I believe that this bill will help employees to understand their emotions first, since unsettled
emotions clouded our mental focus that leads to slow progress and absent minded that affects
an individuals work.

Cagayan de Oro 1st District Representative Lordan Suan stated that, "by allowing time and
space for emotional processing,[the heartbreak] leave can improved focus and performance
upon return."

This shows that everyone deserves a break when having a heavy heart. Though this is not easy
to avail since it requires the employees a signed statement to confirm that the individuals
romantic relationship has ended within the past 30 days.

A study stated that it is most likely to take 11 weeks or 3 months to somehow feel better from
the post-breakup, so being able to have a little break is already a really big help.

"Beyond adressing individual needs, the bill forster gender equality in the workplace. Research
suggest women disproportionately experience economic and emotional hardship following
breakups. By offering equal access to leave, the Heartbreak Recovery and Resilience Act
promites equity." Lordan Suan statement most likely shows that all individuals are involved
despite their gender.

It's better to take care of our mental and emotional health too other than our physical health,
letting our emotions piled up causes trouble not just in you but also on others. Sort out your
feelings first before sorting paper works.
