Terms and Conditions

1. This Scholarship is offered to only all Malaysian students who have successfully enrolled
between 1st January to 31st December 2022 in City U Foundation program pathway to Bachelor
based on their SPM (or equivalent) results, with the following conditions:
a. The said student shall continue the studies to Bachelor program of his / her choice as listed
in above in City U only and in no other institutions.
b. Upon completing the Foundation program the student is required to enroll into selected Full-
time Conventional Bachelor program only.
c. The scholarship offer is only valid for the intake stated in the Offer Letter for Admission. If the
scholarship is not exercised within the intake offer period, it shall lapse automatically.
d. This scholarship will not be awarded to any MARA or Government sponsored students.

2. By accepting this Scholarship Award, the Student confirms that he/she understands:
a. All the scholarship’s criteria.

b. That if the Student fails to fulfill the requirements, the Student may forfeit all the scholarship
and waiver (if applicable).
c. the terms of the scholarship are as follows:
i. The scholarship only covers foundation tuition fee.
ii. The scholarship does not include registration fee ,resources fee, miscellaneous fees,
or the foreign portion of the studies and external moderation or examination fees, and
iii. The Scholarship offered is not exchangeable for cash, nor is the unutilized portion of
the scholarship refundable in cash and
iv. To qualify for the Foundation scholarship in subsequent semester after the 1st
semester, the student must meet the requirements set in the City University student’s
handbook and City University scholarship guideline.

3. In the unlikely event that the Student is found guilty of an any default or breach as stated in item no
2, the Student or the Student’s parents or the Student’s guardian shall reimburse City U the
following on demand :
a. Fee and Penalty amounting to RM19, 800.00; and
b. An administrative charge of 10% per year over and above the scholarship disbursement.
Note: The foundation certificate and transcript shall not be released to the Student as the
Student has failed to continue his/her studies to Bachelor Degree Programme at City U after
completion of his/her foundation programme.

4. Application & Registration Fees to be paid by student

Application Fee RM 500.00

Registration Fee RM 1,200.00
Total Fees RM 1,700.00

5. Other fees
a. A Resource Fee will be charged per semester and not limited to the semester only as per
prefixed in the program.
b. An assessment fee per subject taken by the student shall be charged every semester and
will be based on the prevailing rate of the semester.
c. Should the student fails to complete the semester within the stipulated period, as set in the
program, an extra-semester fee at the prevailing rate, shall be charged for every additional
semester enrolled. (The student is advised to refer to the Bursar’s Office for the latest
administrative fee.)
d. The course fee for the selected Bachelor program shall remain as agreed based on the
Foundation Intake Date, provided the Student did not extend the study period for Foundation
program. If the student extends the study period for more than one additional semester during
the Foundation program, then the Student shall pay the course fee applicable at the time of
the enrolment into their Bachelor program.
e. The student may extend the foundation program for a maximum 1 semester only. If the student
fails to complete within the extended time, the student is not eligible to enjoy the prefixed fee
agreed upon when enrolling to the foundation program. The fee will be at the prevailing rate
upon enrolment into the bachelor program.

6. City U reserves the right to pursue legal action against students who breaches the legally-binding
obligations of their studies, including but not limited to the regulations in the Student Handbook, hostel
regulations, the terms and conditions of the offer letter and this Addendum. The cost of such legal action
including solicitors’ fees shall be borne entirely by the student.

7. City U reserves the right to make any amendments/alterations/modifications to this Addendum

whenever necessary at its sole discretion and such amendments/alterations/modifications will be
communicated to the respective students within twenty-one (21) working days after such
amendments/alterations/modifications have been made and the students shall abide by same.

By signing this Addendum to the offer letter, the concerned student agrees that he/she has read and
understood and agrees to all the terms and conditions of this Addendum and that he/she irrevocably
agrees to be legally bound by each and every term and condition.
