Programme Description The Bachelor of Business Administration is a three-year undergraduate degree
programme that equips students with an understanding of the business and
management environments. The programme aims at developing a student’s
intellectual ability, executive personality and managerial skills through an appropriate
blend of business and general education. Students are able to understand and
develop unique leadership qualities required to successfully manage a business. The
programme is also designed to produce up-to date, assertive and effective executives
for business and other organisations and prepares students for further studies. The
programme covers a variety of business and management principles.

Purpose of the Module The purpose of this module is to introduce the student to business management
thereafter, explain the relationship between organisation and management. The
student will also be introduced to the evolution of management theory and its
relationship to modern practices. The student will be able to identify levels of
management and discuss activities which are performed at each level. The core
areas of management, manager role distribution and managerial skills are
discussed. Thereafter, the relationship between the management process and its
environments and student’s understanding of contemporary management issues
and their application are outlined. Lastly, students are provided with examples that
illuminate principles of good business and both independent and directed study
as related to business management are discussed.

Purpose of the Module The purpose of this module is to cover the basic concepts of accounting, the
recording of various elementary transactions and accounting cycle. This module
deals with the recording and control of various assets and liabilities and the
accounting records of a sole trader, partnerships and trading and none trading
enterprises. The module familiarises the student with recording, classifying and
interpreting financial data for a business. It includes a study of the journals, ledger
accounts and financial statements used by these entities. It also covers credit
instruments, depreciation of plant assets, internal control, and liabilities.
