Basic Calculus - Activity 1

Polynomial
A polynomial is an expression that is made of variables,
constants and exponents, and is also combined using
mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division.

Example : f(x) = Ax^3 + Bx^2 + Cx + D

Exponentials
An exponential function is defined by the formula f(x) = a^x,
where the variable x exists as an exponent. The exponential
curve depends on the exponential function and it depends on
the value of the x.

Example : f(x) = A^x2

Radical
The definition of a radical expression is any mathematical
expression which uses a root symbol (√) - a square root, cube
root, etc. The value underneath the radical sign itself is the
radicand, the small number to the left is the degree. If there is
no degree, it's just a square root.

Example : f(x) = √(2x+4)
