Green teens cycle!

1) He usually travels to school by bus, but this week is going to be different. For the next month,
Nick and his friends are all going to cycle to school. 2) ‘But we want people to see that we think it
is important to stop going by car everywhere. The roads here are very dangerous for students
walking to school.’
Nick and his friends meet at Lucy’s house. 3) ‘It’s great because there’s a big group of us,’ says
Lucy. ‘The cars can see us easily so we will be safe.’ On the way to school, it rains, but the
students are wearing rain jackets so they don’t get wet. ‘People think that the weather is too bad to
travel by bike,’ says Nick. ‘It does rain a lot here – I’ll be happy to get to school!’
