(d) Earthworks shall be executed by Metalkol site team.

(e) The material of the steel shall comply with EN 10025 Grade S355JR and shall be supplied complete with
a protective coating, the corrosion protection shall be in accordance to SP0659-0000-0M5-05 Surface
Treatment Finishes Structural Steel –Metalkol Specification. (Attached)

(f) The material of the sheeting shall be Polyethylene and shall adhere to the following general
requirements listed below.

• Sheet life span in excess of 20 years

• High UV tolerance and low UV transmittance
• Acid resistance
• Resistance to chemical corrosion
• The colour of the sheeting shall be white
• Cutting sizes (Sheeting supplier to provide based on drawings)
• Ridge Capping (Sheeting supplier to provide based on drawings)
• Flashing sizes (Sheeting supplier to provide based on drawings)
• Fastener screw quantities shall be supplied in accordance to sheeting requirements to ensure
sufficient coverage.
• All fasteners to be Stainless Steel self-drilling screws, quantities shall be supplied according to

(f) The sheeting supplied should adhere to the following material requirements:

• The sheeting material should be Polyethylene, this is favoured above standard

Polycarbonate sheeting for the following reasons:
• Polyethylene sheeting is used successfully in similar applications at other mining operations
in Metalkol vicinity. These mining operations experienced that Polyethylene has superior
corrosion resistance when compared to the Polycarbonate and that it has also proven to be

more cost effective. These benefits have made Polyethylene a long-term solution at their
operations as opposed to numerous short-term fixes.
• Polyethylene is 100% acid resistant and exhibits excellent UV resistance
• Due to its high mechanical strength, work can be done on top of the sheeting without
failures, when required
