“The Faith@Five worship service at The Church of the Redeemer embodies a
vibrant expression of our Episcopal heritage, weaving well-known, modern hymns
with a rich tapestry of songs and Spirituals from across the broader Church.
Inspired by Ephesians 5:18b-20, our service resonates with the call to be filled
with the Spirit, singing heartfelt psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, giving thanks
to God. Within the mosaic of Redeemer's vision and mission, Faith@Five stands
as a distinctive worship offering among our diverse weekend services. It not only
fosters spiritual growth but also encourages active engagement in Redeemer’s
programs, outreach initiatives, historical endeavors, and community-building
efforts such as the BUILD campaign.
Led by The Connections Choir and Faith@Five Musicians, our musical worship
embraces a fusion of musical styles, from old-time gospel hymns to modern
worship songs and Taize/Iona meditation songs, enhancing the deep meaning of
the Scripture readings, prayers, and Communion. Under the direction of Robert
Chrystal, our Director of Music, the grand piano is the lead instrument, its
improvisational melodies igniting hearts with gratitude and praise,
complemented by the rhythmic accents of percussionist and keyboardist Billy
Georg, and guitarist/bassist Dave Wallack.
Throughout the year, guest soloists and instrumentalists enrich our worship
experience, while the contagious energy of our preacher/celebrant invites active
participation and heartfelt devotion. Join us on Saturday evenings at 5:00 PM,
and leave uplifted, with a song and the Presence of God in your heart. Faith@Five
is a sanctuary of inspiring music, prayer, and healing for the Redeemer
community.”
