 News and Notes
Pastor Called - On June 6th, St. Paul's congregation called Pastor Scott
Oelhafen from Trinity Lutheran in Waukesha, WI. Please keep Scott and
his wife Christine in your prayers.
Pastor Scharf has returned both calls he held and will remain at St.
Paul's church. Praise God!
Pastor Sutton's Farewell - On Sunday, June 27th, Pastor Sutton will be
preaching his last services as our Pastor. The 11am service will be a
special service with a guest pastor and special music. A cake and coffee
reception will be held after the 9:30am and 11am services. A short
program will take place after the 11am service. Please join us. Both
services will be livestreamed.
Donate a Hymnal! In December the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran
Synod will release a “new hymnal” also called Christian Worship. This
will be a mix of familiar and new. Hymnals costs $24. Our church council
approved a plan asking each family at St. Paul’s to purchase at least one
new hymnal for our church and school. (Note that these hymnals will
be for general use.) So far we’ve received half of the $9,600 needed.
Please drop your donation in the collection plate or church office. This
will show love to others and love to God, who first loved us!
St. Paul's School is looking for people to work at their summer care
program. The program serves children with ages ranging from
kindergarten through 6th grade, 7:30am - 6pm M-F. For more

Family Bible Nights will be held on July 14, 28 and August 11 from 5:30-
7:30pm at St. Paul's School. Join us for a picnic meal, devotion, Bible
lesson, and activities each night.

Costa Maya Ministries serves the tourist town of Mahahual, Mexico. St.
Paul's is a mission partner to this congregation. Many families and
individuals have been hit hard by the lack of tourism in this area due to

a gift. You can also bring gifts to the church office.
Cemetery Rate Schedule - Effective July 1, there will be new rates for
the St. Paul's Cemetery. Visit our website for details as well as other

Ushers Needed – St. Paul's is in need of ushers for all services - you can
choose the service that works best for you. Ushers typically help four

Food Shelf - July is St. Paul's month to help at the food shelf. Please call
Opal Dewanz at 507-359-9808 to volunteer.
Nursery – The nursery at St. Paul's Church is open for your children!
There will be volunteers on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30. Please
sign up on our website if you are interested in helping in the nursery on

St. John's/St. Paul's Church Campout is happening at the Sleepy Eye
Sportsmen's Park the nights of June 25-26. The link to reserve your

will be a church service and fellowship activities.
St. Paul's Virtual Superhero Dig In Gala Results - The Dig In Gala and
School Campaign Committees would like to thank all those who
participated and donated to the St. Paul's School Building Project during
this year's Gala. Donations to the Project totaled $11,300! Thanks be to
God for the generosity of our school's supporters!
The 2021 MVL Classic will be July 12 at the New Ulm Country Club. This
annual outing supports our Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for a
Christ-centered education at MVL. Register at mvlclassic.givesmart.com.
