Dear Parishioners,
Periodically in the
weekly reflection, we will
consider the liturgical
changes that are coming
in November of this year,
in order to have an eas-
ier transition to these
new texts.
In the Penitential Rite in
the Confiteor, we currently say, “I have sinned through my
own fault.” In the new texts, we will say, “through my fault,
through my fault, through my most grievous fault.” This is
exactly how we used to say it.
I rather like this change. First of all, it has a nice rhythm to
it. It also provides a keener sense of sorrow for sin, more
awareness that we have offended God. Using the words,
“through my most grievous fault,” I really can feel myself tak-
ing ownership of my sin. I can be more aware that I have ap-
proached the celebration of the Eucharist unworthily (we are
always unworthy), and that I need the help of God even when
it comes to giving him praise and thanksgiving.

Heaven’s Chefs, an annual food tasting
and fellowship time sponsored by St.
Mary’s Assumption Church in Cotton-

KC DINNER FOR SEMINARY FUND
The Fourth Degree Knights will spon-
sor a dinner on Sunday, February 6

Hall to benefit the Seminary Fund.
The meal will consist of pork loin, mashed potatoes,

DAY OF RENEWAL IN COLFAX
The Diocesan Service Committee of
the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in
the Diocese of Alexandria is hosting a
Day of Renewal on Saturday, Febru-
ary 19 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church Hall in Colfax. The theme
is “Now is the Acceptable Time! Now is the Day of Sal-
vation!” The guest speaker will be Johnny Bertucci of
the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of New Orleans.
Registration at 8:30 am will be followed by Praise and
Worship, talks, testimonies, lunch, and fellowship.
Registration is $12, which includes lunch. Call Diane

the vestibule. Deadline is February 12.
RECEIVING THE MIRACLE OF GOD’S
HEALING LOVE
Jim and Christy Gootee and the Two
Hearts Team will present a day retreat
titled, Receiving the Miracle of God’s
Healing Love on Saturday, February
12 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm at
Maryhill Renewal Center. Learn to follow God’s di-
rection in Scripture to help remove the blocks in your
miracle and learn about the doors to receive more mira-
cles in your life. If you need a miracle, don’t miss this
opportunity from God! The cost for the day is $40.
For those too ill to stay for the entire day, a healing
service will be held from 7:00-9:00 pm. The cost is a
love offering if attending only the healing service. Call
