Quick setup guide for PVR8130 and PVR7100

1. Once the unit is installed L-band to RF input, power and network cable connected,
change management IP from the front panel of the device. Select → Enter → Unit →
Management Port → IP configuration and enter IP, MASK and GW as required then
access management via the web browser and select configuration TAB below

 2. Select DVB-S/ 2 RF port you have connected L-band to menu window shows, select
it and select properties

Here you need to insert downlink parameters as shown above. Under LNB insert the
appropriate value for LO. In our case it is 5.15 as shown below.

Once completed, select Show Status TAB and you’ll see POP UP window with RF reception
parameters.

 3. Once locked to the carrier select drop to Logical input

And after that select TS from the logical input map TS to output (PVR7100)

It should prompt you to change TS type to Transparent → select yes.

Right click on TS in Logical Output column and select menu → properties, a pop-up window
will open - here you need to ensure that Enable is selected and CA device is selected where
CAM module is inserted.

 4. Lastly, select Physical Output ASI or IP interface:

And select appropriate TS source (from the logical output in the step before)

5. For TSoIP you need to enable socket, select output TS as above and allocate
multicast IP address as shown below.

 6. TRANSCODING OPTION FOR PVR7100 UNIT ONLY
To setup MPEG Transcoding option HD → SD, under Logical inputs expand TS and select
and drag across service to desired logical output , it will prompt you to change to Multiplex if
you selected the same TS output from the step above

You’ll see now popup window where you can select Transcode option and desired
parameters.

If you expand this section on Logical Outputs, you’ll see that TS transcoding has been
applied and map this to physical port as described in step 4 above.

 7. DOWNCONVERTER OPTION FOR PVR8130 UNIT ONLY

Select TS from Logical input and drop it to decoder as illustrated below

Open decoder properties → under video TAB you can configure SD Outputs

 8. CAM Module and SMART Card – Select CAM and appropriate slot where CAM
module has been inserted

Select MMI and a POP UP window will show as below- here you can check SMART card
status, serial number and descrambling status of the CARD – useful for troubleshooting .

In the example below we enter 5 and press send → it shows program status when card is
authorised

To identify the serial number of SMART card in case of authorisation problems , in the
previous example select 1 (Connax Contego Information) → select 1 again (About Conax
CA) and the Card number is shown below
