CIRRUS AIRPLANE MAINTENANCE MANUAL CHAPTER 78-10: NOZZLE

VISION SF50 GENERAL

Nozzle
78-10: NOZZLE

1. General

This section describes that portion of the exhaust system which collects the exhaust gases from
the turbine. This includes the exhaust nozzle.
The exhaust nozzle is a stainless steel duct connected to the aft flange of the aft bypass duct. The
exhaust nozzle is designed to bend the thrust vector 14° up with respect to engine centerline.

(See Figure 78-10-1)

(1) Removal - Exhaust Nozzle

(a) Acquire necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.

Description P/N or Spec. Supplier Purpose

Isopropyl Alcohol TT-I-735 Grade A or B Fastenal Solvent clean.

Water Wash - Any Source Clean surface.

Plastic Scraper - Any Source Remove residue.

Vacuum - Any Source Remove debris.

(b) Remove engine nacelle. (Refer to 54-20)

(c) Remove engine pylon. (Refer to 54-50)
(d) Remove nuts, washers, and grounding strap.
(e) Remove nuts, washers, and bolts securing exhaust nozzle and aft engine bulk-
head to engine.
• CAUTION •
Painted surfaces of aft pylon will experience stress cracking
due to bending pressure applied to pylon during aft bulkhead
removal.
(f) Carefully bend sides of aft pylon outboard as required to pull aft engine bulk-
head free of pylon structure. Remove exhaust nozzle and aft engine bulkhead
from airplane.
(g) Pry exhaust nozzle free of aft engine bulkhead and slide exhaust nozzle out of
front side of aft engine bulkhead.
• CAUTION •
Ensure any debris are removed from engine area following
exhaust nozzle removal.
