1. Identify the motif or theme of the dance.


The National University Pep Squad transported the audience into the nostalgic world of Elvis
Presley, the "King of Rock and Roll." The motif of their performance revolved around paying
homage to this musical icon, evident through their use of Elvis's timeless hits. The addition of
90s-themed outfits not only reinforced the historical context but also added a layer of visual flair
to the overall theme.

2. Identify choreographic forms.


The NU Pep Squad's choreographic brilliance shone through their adept use of the Theme and
Variations form and suite. This choice allowed them to artfully weave together different
movements and sequences, creating a cohesive and engaging narrative. The deliberate
incorporation of variations within the theme showcased their choreographic versatility and added
depth to the overall performance.

3. Identify and list down the basic cheer dance movements used in the performance.
The NU Pep Squad's range of basic cheer dance movements was extensive and skillfully
executed. Movements such as the bucket, candlestick, and flying v demonstrated precision and
synchronization. Meanwhile, elements like the muscle man, dagger, and overhead clasp added a
dynamic and visually striking dimension to their routine, showcasing a diverse range of
movements that contributed to the overall richness of their performance.

The predominant emotion conveyed by the dance performance was satisfaction. The NU Pep
Squad's execution of the routine left a sense of fulfillment, likely stemming from their well-
coordinated movements, thematic coherence, and overall entertainment value.

5. Describe how you feel while watching the whole dance performance.
As the 2022 champions, expectations were high for a lively and energetic performance from the
NU Pep Squad. Initially, there was a moment of confusion, as the performance began in a clean
and organized manner, differing from the upbeat and prop-intensive routine of the previous year.
However, this initial confusion gave way to appreciation as the squad seamlessly executed clean,
organized, and successful stunts. The performance gradually built up in intensity, incorporating
hype-worthy stunts and music. NU Pep Squad stood out by showcasing diverse cheer dance
movements, avoiding dominance by dance alone. Ultimately, the overall feeling was one of
satisfaction, recognizing the squad's ability to deliver a well-rounded and compelling
performance.
