Review the framework for assessing ethics from Dr. Seitzman's lecture (video you
watched last week). When considering issues that may arise in the use of AI, what do
you need to consider about:

1) Utility - AI could be beneficial to society because it can help provide information that
may be harder to find to people. A drawback is that the information that AI provides may
not be 100% right. Also, people can become too over reliant on AI and not learn things
that they are supposed to learn.

2) Justice - People who have access to AI may have an advantage compared to people
who don’t have AI since AI can provide information that may be harder to find. With that,
employers may expect more from their workers or teachers may expect more from their
students since they may assume that everyone has access to AI.

3) Care - With AI, it is worth considering the impact of its value and implementation on
those persons with whom we are in a valuable and close relationship. The improper use
of AI could create a disingenuous sentiment between its user and those close to the
user. AI is not authentic work and thus might cause someone to look unfavorably upon
one who uses it. As such, it is important to consider close relationships and who might
be viewing the AI-aassited work.

4) Rights -The way that neural nets and AI works is that it pulls data from a database
from other people and sometimes it doesn’t credit the people that originally found the
information that it uses. This lack of credit can raise questions about intellectual
property rights and the fair distribution of recognition within the AI field.

5) Duty - It is important for one to always refer back to their professional or moral code,
especially when using AI. Engineers in particular should always be producing authentic
work. Engineers also have a duty to make sure that their work is correct and AI can be
prone to making mistakes.
