B.Tech. and Dual Degree 5th Semester

Subject Name: Embedded Systems

Subject Code: EE3401

Number of Pages: 2 Full Marks: 30 Duration: 2 Hours

Figures at the right hand margin indicate marks.
All symbols carry usual meaning. Assume standard value for any missing data.
Answers should be brief and to the point.

Q1. Generate a square wave with a frequency equal to the last two digits of your roll number in Hz at the PC2 10
of 8255 using BSR mode. The address of control register is FFH. Draw the circuit neatly. Write a structured
assembly code of 8085 to meet the goal. Assume 4MHz as the clock frequency of 8085. Provide proper
comment for the code.

Q2. In a minimum 8085 based system 8755 is used to provide both memory of 2k byte and two ports. We need to 10
send 16 bytes of data stored in the memory starting from 232AH to Port B of 8755 continuously. The Port A
address of 8755 is 20H. Draw the circuit neatly. Write an RTOS in assembly code of 8085 with proper comments
for the job. Assume 4MHz as the clock frequency of the 8085.

Q3. Eight push buttons are connected to PA of 8255 and a 7-segment display is connected to Port B of it. The 10
numerals of a push button is needed to be displayed on the 7-segment LED unit whenever it is pressed. The
address of PA of 8255 is set to 7000H. Draw the circuit with 8085 microprocessor neatly. Write an RTOS in
assembly code of 8085 with proper comments to serve the purpose.
