03 : GENERAL TEACHING METHODS

Lecture method is most convenient and inexpensive method of teaching any subject. It hardly
requires the use of materials except for the white board ,the marker and at times projecter.
Lecture method is teacher controlled and information centered approach in which teacher works
as a role resource in classroom instruction. It is also known as the transmissive method, is based
on vertical learning, whereby the teacher has all the knowledge – the “know-how” – which they
transmit to the students. The students are considered to have everything to learn. Any prior
knowledge they may have, their motivations and their personal plans are not really taken into
account.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, while the lecture method has its advantages, such as efficient
content delivery and expert demonstration, it also presents challenges like
limited interactivity and passive learning. The effectiveness of the lecture
method depends on how well it is balanced with interactive and engaging
elements to cater to diverse learning styles. Educators should strive to
create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment by incorporating a
variety of teaching methods to enhance student engagement, understanding,
and overall learning outcomes.
