NOTE!
Where nothing else is indicated, the bolts shall be tightened according to standard tightening torques.

1. Test the ball valve in the middle support. Blow with compressed air in the middle hole in the ring. Check that the ball
seals against the seat. The ball may not jam in any position.
NOTE!
If the bushing in the middle support is worn, the entire support should be changed.

2. Change piston rings on the middle support.

Cool the middle support to max. -20 °C (-4 °F), to facilitate installation.

3. Fit the middle support.

4. Install the lock ring for the middle support.


Tightening torque: 40 ±6 Nm (29.5 ±4.4 lbf ft)

5. Turn the transmission so that the rear part of the transmission faces up.

6. Install the lock ring for the middle support. Make sure that the lock ring is installed correctly in its groove.

7. Rotate the transmission 180°.

8. Lube the piston rings in the middle support with vaseline.

9. Install 88800052 Fixture. To enable reading of the dial gauge, the tool should be turned so that the holder for the dial
gauge faces the opening from the transmission housing to the sump.

10. Install tool E1668 Counterhold. Tighten the tensioning bolt by hand.

11. Rotate the transmission 180°.
