What is our understanding about drugs
Illegal drugs are not good for anyone. For children and teens whose
bodies are still growing. Illegal drugs can damage the brain, heart,
and other important organs. Cocaine, for example, can cause a heart
attack - even in a child or teenager.

Also, if a person uses drugs, they will perform less in studies, sports
and other activities. When a person is under the influence of drugs, it
is difficult for them to think clearly and make sound decisions. And
they can do dangerous things that could hurt her or hurt other
people.
Why do people use illegal drugs?
● Sometimes children or teens try drugs in an attempt to fit in
and be accepted by their peer group.
● They may try them simply out of curiosity or boredom.
● A person can use illegal drugs for many different reasons,
but most often they do so to get away from reality for a while.
● If a person is sad or worried about something, drugs can
temporarily make them feel better or forget about their
problems. But that effect will only last as long as the effects
of the drug last.
Why do people use illegal drugs?
● Drug abuse and addiction come with numerous downsides that
can have a significant impact on an individual's physical and
mental health, social life, and economic well-being.
● It is crucial to seek help and support to overcome drug addiction
and minimize the negative consequences of drug use.
We propose the following solutions
1. Promote self-esteem.
2. Maintain good communication.
3. Encourage them to behave responsibly.
4. Learn the activities that children do and promote leisure
activities.
5. Talk and give all the needed informations about drugs.
6. Teach your children problem solving skills.
7. Set Limits: Teach children self-control and responsibility,
provide safe limits, and show them you care.
8. Supervise: Helps parents recognize problems, promote safety,
and stay involved with their children.
9. Meet your children's friends.
Law about drugs in El Salvador
The law that regulates the use and possession of drugs in El
Salvador is call “REGULATORY LAW OF ACTIVITIES RELATED TO
DRUGS”

In El Salvador the last report about drugs says that the amount
of cocaine seized by the police has increased because of new
politics about the topic, the amount of cannabis seized has
remain the same, but the amount of methamphetamines and
ecstasy seized has increased a lot.
Conclusion
As a team we came to the conclusion that the use of drugs
must be avoided due to the various damages they cause,
especially in teens that harm both their physical and
mental health.
The use of drugs can be the product of several negative
situations in the life of an teens and that is why we must
encourage young people to stay away from drugs and we
must help young people who have developed addictions to
these substances
