Basic Needs

A plant needs Water,

Sunlight, Soil, and Air for it
to grow
Water/Pagdidilig
First, Mr. Plant needs water to drink, just like you do!
Water helps Mr. Plant stay hydrated and grow tall and
healthy. When it rains or when we water Mr. Plant, he
drinks up the water through his roots, which are like his
straws in the soil."
Sunlight
Next, Mr. Plant loves to soak up the sunshine! Just like you
feel happy and energized when you play outside in the sun,
Mr. Plant feels the same way. Sunlight gives Mr. Plant
energy to make his own food and grow big leaves to catch
even more sunshine.
Soil
Mr. Plant also needs a cozy place to live, called soil. Soil
is like Mr. Plant's comfy bed where he can stretch out his
roots and grow. It's full of important nutrients that Mr.
Plant slurps up to help him grow strong and healthy
Air
Last but not least, Mr. Plant needs to breathe in fresh air,
just like you do! Air is all around us, and Mr. Plant takes
in the oxygen from the air through tiny holes in his leaves.
It helps him stay alive and keep growing.
