International Invention

Inventor: Elon Musk

Invention : SpaceX Starship

Purpose of the Invention:

Create a reusable spacecraft that is capable of visiting Mars and other planets. Starship, an

innovative spacecraft that may one day fly artists around the moon, deploy satellites, and

perhaps land on Mars, is the first step in SpaceX's plans to leave Earth's orbit.

Methodology:

Before attempting to fly a ship into orbit, SpaceX has been hard at work developing a number

of Starship prototypes in Texas to test the engines, the spaceship architecture, and the launch,

flight, and landing systems. There have been ups and downs with the brief test flights. There

have been violent landings from a few of those downs. Moreover, there have been some

incredible photos of the prototypes flying.

The Starship is a superheavy-lift launch vehicle and spacecraft being developed by SpaceX

that can transport up to 100 passengers and goods to Mars.

Conclusion:

Though it is still in the early stages of development, the Starship might completely change

space travel. It might make it easier and less expensive than ever to send people to Mars and

other planets.
National Invention

Inventor: Clarrisa Mabitazan

Invention:BasCart

Purpose of the Invention:

The invention was given the name BasCart, which stands for "basket in a cart." This three-

tiered utility trolley including baskets is perfect for transporting and shopping with

hydroponic plants without negatively impacting the quality of the vegetables and herbs grown

in hydroponic gardens.

The baskets are equipped with different-sized buckets that are designed for holding the

nutrient solution and the hydroponic plants. Tall plants can stand steadily in a wider area

because to the baskets' capacity to move to the sides and extend their width.

Methodology:

Although we are aware that a lot of individuals currently cultivate hydroponically, we haven't

noticed that these vegetables and herbs are available in supermarkets and grocery shops in

their natural state. Bringing these hydroponic plants home and leaving them to stay fresh is

kind of pointless.

BasCart provides an original method to buy fresh herbs and vegetables. It is planned to

launch an item brand where customers can purchase hydroponic plants in cups within buckets

with their roots still connected. The freshness of the vegetables and herbs is certain to be

maintained with this approach.

Customers not only benefit from BasCart's excellent convenience, but it also promotes more

shopping, which boosts revenue for supermarkets, grocery stores, and other retail

establishments.
During their request for proposals for the Technology Innovation for Commercialization

(TECHNICOM) program in 2018, I became aware of DOST-TAPI. My project proposal was

sent by email, and a few days later, I got calls and emails from TAPI asking them to review

it. Since then, I maintained up with their programs by reading and following their

publications and going to their events.

Conclusion:

I can relate to a lot of innovators, particularly those that have creative concepts but are

hesitant or uncertain of how to begin. It takes money to invent anything new. Other

difficulties include looking into previous inventions, investing time and money to develop the

concept, considering how it might benefit society and be accepted by others, and locating

business partners who can assist in putting the concept into practice. These are the biggest

obstacles that inventors typically face, and it's amazing how difficult it is to overcome each

one of them.

After the conclusion of my TECHNICOM project, I submitted an application for TAPI's

Concept Prototyping Program in order to pursue another idea, and it was accepted in 2022. I

was urged to use their Intellectual Property Rights Assistance Program (IPRAP) once it was

finished in order to protect my invention's intellectual property. Afterwards, I submitted an

application for the GALING initiative, which provides funding for using innovations for

national growth, in order to enhance the BasCart and increase its feasibility and

marketability.
