C - Why a long career gap - What you were doing for such a long period?

Ans - Was preparing for Medical examination.

C - 4 yr is such a long period and after that, you are doing Bsc, you wanted to be a doc. Don't you
think you failed in that aspect?

Ans - Life is not a series of success and failure, at one moment things that seems to be a failure at a
later stage may prove to be a success. I have read somewhere that failures are like the wounds of a
warrior which reminds him of what went wrong in the first place.

C - Where have you been preparing?

Ans - Been at home and doing it myself ( avoided speaking the truth about Kota to skip questions
regarding the same).

C - Don't you think your life was quite monotonous during that time?

Ans - Yes mam it was.

C - Still you have a progressive career and you are also the gold medalist and you also read
motivational books that's nice.

Ans - Thank you, mam.

M1 - So as you have been preparing for the medical examination for such a long time can you say
where a new medical college is being set up in Odisha?
 Ans - No sir I can't recall at this moment.

M1 - Do you know about the KALIA scheme?

Ans - said it's full form and the basic.

M1 - Who was St.Xavier?

Ans - said the basics about the church at Goa and the festivals - recent PM visit.

M1 - What about the cyclone preparedness of Odisha is it happening on the ground?

Ans - Said about the 1999 supercyclone and the death toll and in a sequence told about the things
that are being done now. Mentioned ODRAF - and our help in West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.

During answering it I was saying that the magnitude of destruction in the 1999 Supercyclone was
high in the Ersama block and was about to say that it is my home district but avoided the same as
not mentioned in CIF.

M1 - What about crop insurance schemes and the loan waiver being done at subsequent stages?

Ans - Fumbled while answering it - and they told me if you can answer in Odia - so explained it quite
vaguely.
M2 - Why you gave OPS as the last preference don't you like the service?

Ans - No sir my eye power is higher than the prescribed one( told them about the prescribed one) but
I have given the preference because my eyes are compatible with LASIK, as a minor surgery is being
involved my parents are reluctant that I will try to convince them if the situation arises.

M2 - What about Vertical farming? What is Silviculture and Agroforestry? Types of forest? What is
Avenue Plantation the species and spacing involved? What is the Aesthetic use of forestry?

Sir,these are the questions asked to me today .2-3 questions I am unable to recall..over all
25qns.20 minutes duration.

*My interview experience*
��Got only a week to prepare
��Haven't attended any of the mock test
��Only went through the mock interview videos in YouTube

Day of interview....
Had my interview in the 1st half.
Board - Satyajit Mohanty (chairman of board) and 2 other members
(one male and one female member)

I was the last candidate in the lot. So, this made me more nervous
but i managed to overcome it as the interview was going for only 15
to 20mins for each candidate in our board.

I entered the room with a smile and greeted the members. Then i
was offered to take the seat.
Interview started with Satyajit sir..
*So, how are you feeling? You must have arrived at 7:30am and now
its 1:10pm!* (asked with a smile)
I answered it very comfortably.
Then he asked *so what is your strength? How are you different
from other candidates?*
(the other 2 members were too very attentive and listening very
keenly)
Then he asked *so, as you have mentioned, your hobby is cooking,
what basically you cook? Like indian only or other cuisines too?*
I told him that i only knew Indian cuisine and i too have tried
Turkish cuisine.
Then the next question was from the male member.
*as i can see you have given your OPS option as preference in the
last, whats the reason?*

He then asked *Have you heard of Kuno national park?*

I answered it as it was in the lime light.
Then he asked *what do you feel? Was it a right decision to bring
cheetahs again to the subcontinent? Will they survive?*

Then he asked *there is a man who is appearing in upsc cse

interview, and in the interview when he was asked that why are you
joining the service, for money or to serve the people. He replied that
he wants to join for money. Was he right?*
I gave a diplomatic answer.
Then he asked one more question from *Forestry* as it was my
optional.

Then the female member asked me

*Are you friendly?*
I told yes ma'am
Then she asked *what will you do if there will be a bitter fight
between you and your best friend?*
Then she asked *what is the future of organic farming in India?*
*Are organic products costly? And why? And how many times are
they costlier?* I couldn't answer the last part of the question.
Then she asked ki *There is an NGO, which is in recent news and is
associated with old aged people, can you name it?*
This question was some how new to me so i told sorry sir, i must
know this.
*Then they said.. Its ohk.. Your interview is over, you can leave.
Thankyou.*
Interview duration - *20 mins*
Interview Mark - *150 out of 250*
Overall experience..
The board member were extremely cordial and throughout the
interview, i was smiling. It was really a beautiful and soothing
experience.
