* List and explain the types of translocation.

Answer
Reciprocal translocation
Robertsonian translocation

Reciprocal translocation:
In reciprocal translocation, segments of two different chromosomes
exchange places. This can occur when breaks in two different chromosomes
lead to the interchange of genetic material.
Robertsonian translocation:
Robertsonian translocations involve the fusion of two acrocentric
chromosomes, which are chromosomes with their centromere located near
one end. In Robertsonian translocations, the long arms of two acrocentric
chromosomes are lost, and the remaining short arms are fused together. This
results in a single chromosome with a single centromere, containing genetic
material from both of the original chromosomes.
