Think Back & Move Forward:
A Year-End Reflection

There is so much power in reflection,

especially for the ADHD brain. Since our
working memory makes it challenging to
remember details, it's easy to forget
important wins and key takeaways from
the past year. But by intentionally slowing
down, we can change that.

When you take a few minutes to note where you were last year, where you're at
now, and where you're going in the year ahead, you help your brain identify key
milestones, bookmark valuable life lessons, and identify new opportunities for
expansion and growth.

As one of my favorite sayings goes:

You’re either winning or you’re learning.

Admittedly, slowing down for this intentional reflection is easier said than done...
especially for a brain that loves to move quickly. That's why we're pairing this
workbook with episode 179 of the I'm Busy Being Awesome podcast.

Listen to the episode here when you're out on a walk, making dinner, or working
on your latest knitting project. Learn the questions and give them some thought.
Then, return to this workbook to expand upon whatever answers came to mind. By
doing so, you're not only learning and growing but also setting yourself up for an
incredible year ahead. Let's do this.

Think Back

What did your life look like at this time last year? What were you

01
doing? How were you feeling? What was on your mind?

What were you worried about last year, and what advice would

02
you give your past self now that you've made it through?

What did you love about last year? (You may prefer to break up

03
this question in terms of quarters or seasons.)
Think Back

What wins are you celebrating over the past 12 months?

04
Consider personal growth, career, relationships, hobbies, etc.

What felt challenging last year, and what did you learn from the

05
experience? How did you find solutions and support yourself?

What are some of the biggest takeaways and memories from the

06
last 12 months? What feels especially important to note?
Be Present

What do you love about your life today, and why? Consider your

07
relationships, hobbies, career, personal growth, etc.

What might you want to change about your current situation, and

08
why? (i.e., relationships, hobbies, career, personal growth, etc.)

When you think about where you're at right now, what makes

09
you feel proud, and why?
Look Forward

Where do you see yourself one year from now? How do you

10
spend your time? (Career, relationships, hobbies, location, etc.)

What do you want to continue doing next year? What fills your

11
cup today that you want to maintain?

What do you want less of next year? Where do you want to spend

12
less time, less energy, or less focus, and why?
Look Forward

What are your top five priorities for the year ahead? Where do

13
you want to spend your time, energy, and attention?

What sounds like a fun new adventure, project, or goal to pursue

14
over the next 12 months, and why?

What is the first step you could take this week to help you move

15
forward on one of those fun ideas?
Are you ready?
After coaching hundreds of people with ADHD, here's what I've found to be true.
Working with your brain - not against it - is the most effective way to get things
done with ADHD. I'd love to show you how in my group coaching program, We're
Busy Being Awesome.

Using my proven, 3-step framework, you learn how to plan effectively, take action
on those plans, and follow through on the things that matter most to you. Combine
this with powerful coaching, and you learn how to create the individualized
scaffolding that's best for your brain to thrive.

Add the final key ingredient - a small, supportive group of fellow ADHD brains - and
you have the winning formula. By surrounding yourself with a remarkable

community of people who "get it," you can stop wondering: "am I the only one who
deals with this?" and genuinely realize you're not alone.
