COURSE OVERVIEW The Surpac Advanced CMS/Solids for Surveyors three-day course covers concepts and
procedures that will allow the participant to:
• Quickly and accurately compare the design vs as-built drive and stope outlines
• Show deviations from design using deviation analysis (heat mapping)
• Improved plotting capabilities and automating processes
• Provide inputs back into the drilling process (ring design or jumbo operators)
• Reduce costs by providing timely survey pickup data

LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the completion of the course, you will have been exposed to the following topics and
concepts:
• Quickly and easily repair CMS/solids to create valid objects
• Simplify CMS/solids to reduce redundant triangles
• Remove redundant points from CMS/solids to maintain clean data
• Perform deviation analysis to visually check design vs as-built
• Union multiple CMS pickups together quickly and efficiently
• Create survey related plots using automation
• Reconcile volume differences between design vs as-built in a timely manner

PREREQUISITES Knowledge of: Microsoft Windows ; file management; ASCII files and Microsoft Excel .
The Surpac menu structure and graphical user interface (GUI) are similar to most Windows-
based packages and therefore a basic knowledge of the Windows operating system and
environment is necessary.
