Sign-up for a Tutoring Session


Through Penji

Do you need help with an assignment or paper? Book a tutoring


session through the Learning Resource or Writing Center through
Penji.

The following instructions have been adapted from the Learning


Resource Center webpage.

Step #1
If you are on a digital device, you click on the following hyperlink in
blue: https://web.penjiapp.com/ or type the URL into your search bar.
You can also download the Penji app on a mobile device.

Step #2
Set up your Penji account
online or through the
mobile app, using your
school email (@hawaii.edu)

Step #3
Select the “learn” option
on the next page.

Step #4
Next, you can choose your community.
At Leeward CC, you can either book
an appointment through the LRC or
Writing Center. You can choose one
example on this page, but when you
reach the Penji homepage, you can
choose to enroll in the option you
didn’t choose.

Step #5
You can choose to fill-in your
Penji profile with your personal
information. When you’re ready to
proceed, click next.

Step #6 (optional)
When you reach the
homepage, you will see
the option to join other
communities on the
left-side of the screen.
Here, you can enroll in
the community you did
not choose earlier.

Step #7
Now, we can book an
appointment. As marked
in red on the image, you
can choose from a
variety of different
appointment types.

For this example, we are


going to be booking a 25
minute, 1-1
appointment.

Step #8
Then, you have to join a class.
Choose the course that relates
the material you need
assistance with.

Step #9
You can choose the
modality of your
meeting. The LRC and
Writing Center offer
Google and Zoom
meetings, as well as
in-person sessions.

Once you have selected


your preference, you can
select your appointment
time by clicking on any
box outlined in blue. To
adjust the start time,
press the edit button.

Step #11
Next, you will be asked to select
your tutor. You can view their
profile by clicking on it. When
you’ve chosen your tutor, select
“next.”

Lastly, you will be asked to


briefly describe your assignment
to help the tutor prepare for your
session.
