QUICK GUIDE
1 DISK PROTECTION
Alfastreet machines feature disk protection for system partition (C:\). Changes to Windows
operating system and/or C:\ drive will be lost after the computer is restarted if they were
performed with disk protection enabled. This ensures system critical file are protected
against tampering.

Currently two options are available to permanently implement changes:

• Disk protection management using GUI
• Disk protection management using scripts

Switching the method midway through the process is not possible, make sure to complete
either method in full, from start to finish. The following chapters contain step-by-step
instructions for both.
1.1 Disk protection management using GUI
This method is available on newer disk images only and is the quicker method of the two.
It is also the recommended method, if available. To implement changes to system drive
follow the steps below:

1. Logout and login in as Administrator using password a2013.

2. Configure desired Windows settings (such as changing IP address or computer

name), install/uninstall components and/or make changes on system drive (C:).

3. Locate the disk protection icon ( ) in windows taskbar, right-click on it and

select Configure.

4. Enhanced Write Filter windows will appear, highlight C: from the list.
5. With C: highlighted, select Commit from the Pending command options.

6. Press OK.

7. Restart the computer, changes will be saved (commited) and the protection will
remained enabled.
1.2 Disk protection management using scripts
This method is universal and available on all disk images, it should be used when method
with GUI is not available. To implement changes to system drive follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to D:\Tools\ and run the DISABLE file (DISABLE.bat).

2. Using keyboard type a2013 (nothing will appear in the window) and press Enter.

3. Computer will restart and disk protection will be disabled.

4. Logout and login in as Administrator using password a2013.

5. Configure desired Windows settings (such as changing IP address or computer

name), install/uninstall components and/or make changes on system drive (C:).
6. Navigate to D:\Tools\ and run the ENABLE file (ENABLE.bat).

7. Using keyboard type a2013 (nothing will appear in the window) and press Enter.

8. Computer will restart, changes will be saved and disk protection will be enabled.
