Picture Sequence
Draw a number of pictures
representing the different
parts/moments in the story.
Explain the reasons why you
chose these particular images.
The mountain model
Build a simple model of a mountain-like
structure with some terrain around it. You
can draw some little figures representing
the characters in the story we are
discussing. Guide your characters along the
terrain as you recreate or retell the initial
situation in the story, and up the mountain
as the tension increases.
Once the point is reached, show how the
characters descend again and experience a
new/altered normality.
Change one of the events in the
narrative
Change one of the events in the
complication, so that the outcome
of the story is different. If needed,
change the resolution and return to
altered state as well.
Somebody else’s shoes
Describe how you would react to the
problematic situation described in the story.
Put yourself in the different character’s shoes.
For this you will need to:
a. identify the conflict that the characters in
the story are faced with,
b. evaluate the conflict,
c. consider your own reaction to it,
d. compare it to that of the characters.
Add missing parts
Add the parts that you consider
are necessary and do not
appear in the story (a
character, a scene, a
new/different “return to altered
state”, new conflict to come
(for a sequel).
What’s the foe
Identify the challenge that the
characters are facing. Draw it,
describe it and later discuss what
makes it a difficult challenge for
the character to surmount.
Answer the following question:
What would you do if you found out
that your loved one has fallen in love
with a robot?
What would you do if you realised
you have fallen in love with a robot?
These are the options you can
choose from:
