The inventor:

The man who invented the first ever glider was Abbas Ibn Firnas. Abbas was
born in 810 AD in Ronda, Spain, later he lived in Cordoba, Spain which was the
center of learning during the time (he died in Cordoba, Spain in 887 AD). Abbas
was a Spanish polymath, inventor, astronomer, physicist, chemist, mathematician
engineer, Andalusi musician, and a Arabic poet.
What Abbas ibn Firnas
invented:
Along with his invention of the glider he also invented colorless
glass, various glass planispheres, he also made corrective lenses
which were reading stones, and many more.
Where and when the glider
was invented:
The glider was invented by Spanish inventor and polymath, Abbas
ibn Firnas, it was invented during the 800s in cordoba, Spain.
How it was invented:
Abbas ibn Firnas was prompted to investigate aeronautics after
observing a natural flight simulations made by Armen Firma. As a result of
Firmans simulation which was unsuccessful, Abbas created the first glider
which was a pair of wings made out of real feathers and fashioned out wood
and silk. He successfully glided for about ten minutes but was unable to
decrease his speed which led to him seriously injuring himself.
How the glider has helped
us:
The invention of the glider by Abbas ibn Firnas influenced many great
inventors who kept on advancing the glider until today it has become a
reliable way of transition which are known as planes.
