Present three (3) cases/stories featuring moral agents at different stages.

Identify the stages of the


agents in each of the three (3) cases and justify your answer.

1. A 7 year’s old boy sleep in the afternoon because if he didn’t sleep in the afternoon he will not get his
wish of getting an ice cream.

This case is in the stage 2: Exchange of Favours, it is in the stage 2 of moral development because the
boy will get his ice cream in exchange of sleeping in the afternoon this proves that it is in the stage 2 of
the development which is exchanging favour.

2. Matthew is late on his interview for his job application in order to lessen the time of the travel he
needs to cross the road in order to reach the bus terminal to his interview but he saw a sign of “NO
PEDESTRIAN CROSSING” after seeing the sign he immediately walk his way toward the pedestrian lane.

This case is in the stage 4: Law and Order. Matthew is following the law properly and knows what right
or wrong and in order to avoid disruption in the traffic he avoids disobeying the rules.

3. Tifa is a high school student she studies hard in order to be a nice daughter to her parents she always
follow her parents words.

It is in the stage 3: Good Boy/Girl, it is in the stage 3 of the moral development because Tifa always
follows her parents words similar to being loyal and because getting a good grades makes her parents
happy she thinks she will be a nice girl to her parents.
