Please find below the list of technical questions to be responded to as part of the recruitment process.
Please note the following points while responding to the following questions:

deciding factors for the candidate’s selection.
• Feel free to use publicly available resources to research the topics, have a better
understanding and then respond to the provided questions.

be picked up during the interview for further elaboration.

1. Give a comparative analysis of Spheripol and Spherizone Polypropylene technologies offered by

LyondellBasell (refinery technology licensors).
2. What are the possible blend components for Gasoline? For each such component, what are the
key limiting properties that put an upper limit to the maximum amount blended into Gasoline?
3. As a refinery technical services engineer, you monitor and troubleshoot FCC operations. You’ve
received a large spreadsheet data set containing time stamps and FCC reactor top temperature
data for the last 1 year. You want to evaluate monthly averages for reactor temperature values.
As a process engineer, you also need to identify the outliers and exclude them from the data set
while taking monthly averages. Please prepare a spreadsheet with dummy data and devise an
efficient way of fulfilling the requirement.
4. State three possible ways of Naphtha maximization in a refinery.
5. Pick up 1 refinery from anywhere in the world study the refinery’s configuration a write a note on

with an example.

there are 200 hundred players. In the end, how many lamps are switched on? What approach will
be to solve this problem programmatically, using any programming language or MS Excel?
11. In the kingdom XYZ, the minister needs to find the poisoned bottle among 1000 bottles. What is
the minimum number of slaves the minister should use to allow him to find the poisoned bottle,
and what is the consumption of each bottle? How can you solve this programmatically?
